When Jesus took his last breath on the cross, something strange happened in the temple.
The curtain guarding the holy of holies ripped from top to bottom.
This was a sign from God, that the way into his presence was now open.
I've always wondered.
Did anyone who was in the temple that day go in?
Was anyone brave enough to step foot in that room?
Well the Scripture doesn't say.
But here is the good news.
God has put out a welcome mat and invites you into his presence anytime.
There is nothing to fear.
You can go in with confidence.

March 26, 2021 God so loves me...
God so loved the world.
I knew that. But I wasn't so sure that He actually loved me.
In my mind I had to earn God's love by being good and doing good.
That's why I always lived on the edge of doubt. I wasn't living up to my end of the bargain. So how could God love me?
Have you ever felt this way?
Well, Here is the good news. God reaches out to you with love and grace, no strings attached.
So you can't earn his love, nor can you do anything to lose it.
This is a hard lesson to learn, especially in this age of "performance-based Christianity".
But if you are doubting God's love, maybe it's time to change your way of thinking from law to grace. Then you can say with utter assurance, God so loves me

March 25, 2021 Nearsighted and Blind?
Nearsighted and blind.
It's a spiritual condition many believers suffer with today.
It tunnels their vision to their sin and guilt, their weaknesses and struggles, and their fears and frustrations and it blinds them to their forgiveness in Christ.
But the worst part is that it stunts their spiritual growth.
Maybe you feel this way like you've stopped growing in Christ.
Peter identified the cause it's that you've forgotten you have been cleansed from your past sins.
Forgiveness is the key to your growth and transformation in Jesus.
If you are not 100% sure that your sins are forgiven, will you take a fresh look today at the cross and thank God that He forgave you for all of your sins.
This will give you the eyes to see all that you have in Jesus.

March 24, 2021 Clear the Roadblocks
Growth. Transformation.
These two words characterize those who know Jesus Christ. Or at least they should.
However, far too many believers live stymied lives. They want to grow and change, but their past sins keep getting in the way.
My friend Stephanie was like that until she fully embraced the message of the cross. The simple truth of God's forgiveness cleared away the roadblocks that keep her from growing in Christ.
It's tough for Christians to fully accept that they are 100% forgiven.
But it's true.
If you feel like you've stopped growing in Christ, let these words clear away your roadblocks: "I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of His name" (I John 2:12).

Steve called our radio broadcast to discuss a big decision he was facing.
After explaining the situation to me, he asked, "what is God's will for me?"
Steve was stuck in the mud because he didn't want to miss God's will.
I can tell you, being stuck in the mud like Steve is not God's will.
Maybe you feel the same way in your life today. If so let me encourage you to take a look at the promises of the new covenant found in Hebrews 8:10-12.
There you will discover that God's will for you is
to live each day being led by the Holy Spirit.
to walk in assurance that you belong to Christ.
to enjoy to the full a relationship with God
and to know that your sins have been forgiven once and for all.
Walk in these promises and you will find the confidence to walk in freedom.

GPS, it's one of the great modern inventions.
Type in a destination, and your GPS system will map out the best route to get you there.
And when you make a wrong turn, your system quickly recalculates a new course without condemning or berating you for making a mistake.
It reminds me of how the Holy Spirit works in my life. He charts a course to get me to my destination of being conformed to the image of Christ.
When I get off course, the Holy Spirit faithfully recalculates my journey.
And he doesn't condemn me. He simply takes those wrong turns and works them together for good.
So as you go through your day, remember that you are not alone. God is with you every step of the way. His Spirit will get you to your destination.

March 21, 2021 The Most Important Lesson
My first Bible teacher taught me the most important lesson I've ever learned.
It is this:"God created men to know him. God created men to enjoy him."
Adam and Eve knew god and enjoyed him in the Garden until sin and death entered the picture and that relationship with God was lost.
But that's what Jesus came to restore. His death, burial and resurrection was for this single purpose: for you to have and experience eternal life.
But what is eternal life?
Jesus defined it this way "now this is eternal life: That they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
God saved you to know and enjoy him.
This is ultimate freedom. This is eternal life that you can enjoy here and now.

We are all natural born legalists.
When a problem arises, we naturally come up with a law or regulation to fix it.
This year alone, government has created over 82,000 pages of new laws and regulations to fix our country's problems.
We do the same for our personal lives.
I had a long list of rules and regulations to follow to be the best Christian I could be.
It seemed wise at the time, but as Paul wrote, "those rules lacked any value in restraining sensual indulgence."
When it comes to living the christian life, "do not handle. Do not taste. Do not touch." does not work. But Christ does.
And believer, he is alive and living in you. Trusting him is the fix to any problem you will have.

I tried for years to make sense of the Christian life.
I wanted to be god's guy, but as Paul said, I couldn't carry it out.
Here was my dilemma, the only thing I knew to do when I failed was to "try harder."funny thing the phrase "try harder" isn't in the Bible.
And for me , the harder I tried, the more I sinned.
Maybe you've experienced the same frustration.
If so, I've got great news.
You can experience victory in life. You can truly know the joy and peace of the Lord.
It's all there for you as a gift from God, given by grace.
Christianity is simply grace from start to finish.
Let me encourage you today to let go of that "try harder" mindset and let God show you the way of grace.

Here is a comforting truth.
Love is not easily angered.
The King James says love is not easily provoked, which means is that God is not easily angered or provoked with either you or me.
Our actions don't excite him to anger or provoke him to act hastily toward us.
And certainly, we do, say and think a lot of stuff that is deserving of God's anger.
These things may easily anger others and ourselves, but not God.
Why because love is not easily angered and God is love.
If you are feeling down or even disgusted about life today, let the love of God lift you up.
He is not disgusted with you.
No. His love is there for you right now, a love that is not easily angered.
