    Corinna Eikmeier (cello) and Libero Mureddu (piano) first met in 2024 while they were both teaching at an improvisation workshop in Antwerp. The following year, they played again in Helsinki and Berlin and decided to continue their collaboration. Their approach to improvised music is strongly rooted in unexpectedness and unpredictability. Sometimes, faint echoes of the Western classical cello-piano duo might be heard, deeply buried within the sounds.

    Müssen wir noch laut sein für etwas, was doch spätestens mit der Ehe für alle selbstverständlich sein sollte? JA. Weil queere Menschen noch lange nicht gleichberechtigt sind (#adoptionsrecht), weil Transmenschen in ihren Rechten eingeschränkt und delegitimiert werden (siehe USA und UK), weil sich in Deutschland Gewalttaten gegen LGBTIQ-Personen verdoppelt haben in den letzten Jahren.

    In People In Love geht es um die Wurzel dieser Homophobie: Die Vorstellung, dass da doch irgendwas im Argen sei, wenn sexuelle Orientierung oder Identität nicht der heteronormativen Idee von Welt entspricht. Wohl jede queere Person kennt die Frage "Ist das denn nicht nur eine Phase?" People In Love ist ein freundliches None of your business an die Infragestellenden, verbunden mit der Bitte, sich vielleicht lieber selbst bzw. die eigene Taxonomie infrage zu stellen.
