Owncast just shipped 0.3.0 with plugin support, and I could not stop talking about it.
This one's a bit of a detour from the shop, but if you've ever thought about running your own streaming server instead of handing your content (and your revenue split) over to Twitch or YouTube, this is worth a listen. I break down what Owncast is, why the new plugin system matters even though it's still really early, and how lightweight the whole setup is (people are running it on a Raspberry Pi). We also go down a rabbit hole comparing it to some of the newer streaming platforms out there.

Real talk on affiliate links: Some of the links below are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I get a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It's one of the ways I keep The Maker Dad going while working a day job and raising a family. I only link stuff I actually own, use in my shop, or would buy again myself. That's the deal. Good Enough, not gatekept.
