The Indian film industry, popularly bracketed under the brand Bollywood, is slowly being appreciated by a global audience, thanks to YouTube and the popularity of some Indian film stars on a global stage. Yet, the understanding is limited and at times off the mark, clearly for no fault of their own, but simply because there isn't a simple guide which helps people understand the Indian movie making business.
So, I wanted to make a beginners guide, a simple 101 take on the Indian film industry, for those who react to Indian movies on YouTube or other platforms. The content of this podcast is mostly applicable for the first-timer viewing Bollywood, type of audience.
This podcast will help with some reference to context, clear some myths, and give some insights to the way the Indian film industry works along with cultural nuances and references for you to appreciate Indian content.
Note: 1 hour is the run-time for this podcast. I know it's long. But there's no other way to capture so much diversity of content. That said, if you plan well, and if you are a movie lover, you might actually enjoy it.
