Hello everyone,
Funniest of all is that this actually will be posted on time, because I scheduled it a full on week ahead of time lol.
So sit back and enjoy, we will be back next week with your regularly scheduled geekyness.
We will be having a very special episode next week before we get back to normal!
You can send us your answers to this weeks question as well as any questions you’d like to submit to Facebook, Twitter or email us at [email protected].
That is all for this week’s Blogcast. Be sure to tune back in. Same Hammer Time, same Bat Channel.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our week in geek. We bring you another semi-truncated episode this week, and since I didn’t finish…or start depending on your view… our streaming review. We dive headlong into the week’s news and Bat chides me on forgetting to hit post. Which, yes, I did again.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our week in geek. We bring you a truncated sleep episode this week, and since the news cycle was slow, this is a good thing.
First up is our streaming review of Fighting With My Family. Florence Pugh plays WWE Superstar Paige in this quirky comedy focusing on how she broke into WWE and how her family helped her along the way. We both recommend this movie, even if you aren’t a wrestling fan.
Next week we’re queuing up Marriage Story on Netflix for our next streaming review.
Moving over to the nerd news, we discuss if Anthem can be saved, some behind the scenes photos of the new Batsuit, and we learn once again that size matters, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake clocks in at over 100gb!
Closing the show out is this weeks podquestion, and we want to know, what video game franchise would you like to see get its own theme park.

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in geek!
The week blew by us so fast that we missed the blue blur as it stole a bit of the box office. Instead we bring you our streaming review of Midsommar and a heaping helping of some nerd news before we answer this week’s pod question of “what is you favorite game controller?”
This we watched Bat’s streaming suggestion of Midsommar on Amazon Prime. While we were not a fan of Aster’s of directorial piece, Hereditary, we heard so many “good” things about Midsommar that we had to give this one a shot. Lets start off with the first 15 minutes of this movie, which is strong. So strong that both Bat and I were booked and ready. But then the movie continues on, for quite a while, and at a slow but deliberate pace. While there definitely was some off putting moments (like the jumping and the sex) over all we found the movie to be a bit too, well bloated and just couldn’t keep our attention. This isn’t a bad movie, but it also isn’t a great one. It’s here that perhaps the hype just got us a bit too high with excitement because both of us came out of the movie and just felt a little blah. We can’t recommend the investment that this movie takes for it’s “payoff” and recommend you give this one a solid pass.
Next week’ streaming suggestion is my choice. We’re going to watch Fighting With My Family on Amazon Prime.

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in geek!
This week we venture into the theater to watch Birds of Prey and (deep breath) the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. Man that is too long of a title, but even still we bring you our spoiler free and spoiler filled review. We also discuss what we’re playing and talk over some brief nerd news before reviewing our streaming review of The Last Black Man in San Francisco. We finally wrap things up by answering last week’s podquestion of “what is your favorite free thing you got from a Convention?”
This we watched my streaming suggestion of The Last Black Man in San Francisco on Amazon Prime. Now, I heard a lot of buzz surrounding this movie last year and was really curious to see what this movie had to offer. Unfortunately while the cinematography is beautiful this movie really looses it’s footing on what is a very interesting concept of gentrification and facing your own history. There are more than a few standout scenes that we both enjoyed but overall the movie drags on way too long and doesn’t provide a clear enough story for us to really enjoy it. We both recommend skipping this movie.
Next week’ streaming suggestion is my choice. We’re going to watch Midsommar on Amazon Prime.

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in geek!
Just no time this past week to motivate us to get out and watch a movie in the theaters so instead we talk about the nerd news of the past week, review our streaming movie of Mom and Dad and answer last week’s podquestion of “which is your favorite Monty Python sketch?”
This we watched our listener TK’s suggestion of Mom and Dad on Hulu. Well, let’s start off with a question. “when did Nick Cage stop getting directed and just go full tilt odd ball?” That’s the question that we both kept asking ourselves as we watched through this strange but entertaining movie. I really loved the way the movie was shot and edited, which gave it a very unique feel. While it’s very much a zombie movie but with parents killing kids, it does have some fun to keep you engaged. The biggest thing to pull you out of it is Nick Cage’s “acting.” While Bat didn’t enjoy it as much, we both did say that it was worth the watch.
Next week’ streaming suggestion is my choice. We’re going to watch The Last Black Man in San Francisco on Amazon Prime.

Hello everyone, welcome to our slightly under the weather and delayed week in geek!
We both got hit early with the plague so no full spoiler filled theatrical review. Instead I bring you the Hammer only spoiler free review of Just Mercy. Maybe it’s the sickness or the cold, but there just wasn’t too much news so we instead talk a little about what we’re still (not) playing, our streaming review of Lady Bird and answer last week’s podquestion of “which streaming service would you choose if you could only watch one for the rest of the year?”
This we watched Bat’s suggestion of Lady Bird on Amazon Prime. While we heard a lot of good buzz surrounding this movie both Bat and I felt like it completely missed the mark. To sum up this movie, it very much felt like it was trying to be Juno but without the pregnancy. The story of Lady Bird as she moves through her senior year and continues to explore the world around her is okay. It’s nothing entrancing, in fact the most exciting part of the movie happens within the first 5 minutes. After that it feels stagnate, with little character development that seems to keep circling they same tropes. We didn’t hate this movie but we definitely didn’t love it and can’t really recommend it either. Skip this one and save some time.
Our next streaming review is brought us by our listener, TK, who wants us to watch Mom and Dad on Hulu.

Hello everyone, welcome to our first theatrical review(s) for the new year!
We kind of didn’t have a show last week so we stack up our 2 theatrical reviews of Underwater and 1917 and provide both our spoiler free and spoiler filled reviews. We also touch on a few nerd news of delays, Sony skipping out on E3, Fox being disolved, and the Morbius Trailer. This episode we also spend some time talking about what we’re (not) playing, our streaming review of Overlord and answer last week’s podquestion of “what is your favorite puzzle in a game?”
This week’s streaming review was brought to you by me. We watched the occult driven WWII story Overlord on Amazon Prime. While there isn’t a whole lot to say about this movie, that doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing. We both enjoyed what we got out of it, which the trailer did a good job of portraying what you were being sold. The action is pretty solid and the short simple story keeps things pretty tight for the most part. Not great but it was a decent watch.
Next week we’re watching Bat’s suggestion of Lady Bird on Amazon Prime.

Hello everyone, welcome to our first week in Geek for the new year!
The year kind of starts off with a whimper in terms of nerd news and streaming reviews, but it’s just the beginning. This episode we spend most of our time talking about what we’re playing, the sheer lack of enjoyment we had with Hellboy (2019) and the free shit good shit on Playstation plus for January. We also answer last week’s podquestion of “What is your New Years resolution?”
This week’s streaming review was brought to you by Bat. We watched the 2019 version of Hellboy HBOgo. Neither of us were looking forward to this one as the reviews were not kind to it. While I absolutely loved the first two with Ron Pearlman, Bat had not seen either of them. Even still, our boredom with this movie was on the same level. I hate to say it, because of my love of the originals but also the fact that this movie was taking the spot of the non-existent 3rd movie with Pearlman. There are so many scenes in this movie that were almost payoffs from the other ones but they didn’t feel earned. The fun and weird style of the previous movies just felt like a poor knock. There are so many things about this movie that just missed the mark, which was sad. We both recommend you steer clear of this one.
Next week we’re watching my suggestion of Overlord on Amazon Prime.

Hello everyone, welcome to our very special, and last week in Geek for the year!
It’s the end of the year as we know it and we feel fine~ And we’re excited to review all of 2019 and look over our favorite games we played, streaming movies we watched and most and least enjoyable theatrical releases. We also discuss our streaming review of 6 Underground and answer last week’s podquestion of “What is your favorite stormtrooper?”
This week’s streaming review was brought to you by me. We watched the Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay movie 6 Underground on Netflix. First off, let’s just appreciate the numerous action-gasam scenes present. It’s as if someone proposed that they wanted to make a movie with Reynolds directed by Bay and… kind of stopped there and just shoved money in their direction. This is not a great movie by any stretch but it sure as hell was a fun movie. Both of us recommend you taking the almost 2 hours out of your life to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
For next week, we’re going to watch the new Hellboy movie on Amazon Prime… oh boy.
