In the Villains bracket we pit the man who unified the Mongol people and carried out the mass murder of millions versus the ruthless leader of Iraq, who led his people into a genocidal war against Iran, Saddam Hussein.

Today, we head on over to the Events bracket where we pit the modern day wonder, the Invention of the Internet, against the most ancient of our contestants, the Civilization of Sumer. Find out who moves on to the second round of the tournament.

Today, we head on over to the Battles bracket were we pit an ancient clash between the emerging Roman army against the old man on the block, the Greeks. Their opponent is the turning point contest of the American Civil War, Gettysburg.

Over in the Rebels, Rogues, and Scholars bracket, we pit arguably the most successful rebel of all time, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang. His opponent, the man whose publication of the principle of heliocentrism, sparked the Scientific Revolution, Nicholas Copernicus. Find out who moves on thte second round. 

Today, we head on over to the Military bracket where we start with "the ultimate hero-monster" Tamerlane, also known as Timur. His opponent is the soldier-statesman from the 18th century, Fredrick the Great. Find out who moves on to the second round.

In the Leaders bracket, we pit the King of Spain at the height of its global empire, Phillip II against the first president of the United States of America, George Washington. Find out who makes it to the second round.

From the Villains bracket, we bring out two first-ballot inductees to the evil hall of fame, the Transylvanian Vlad Dracul and Nazi SS-Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler. Find out who moves on to the second round.
