Leaving is an essential part of our existence in this world. Sometimes leaving is physical, and sometimes it is emotional. We explore both meanings in two stories of two friendships, one that ends, and the other, fighting to survive.

When Mariam Salah ended up on the wrong side of the checkpoint decades ago, she wasn't able to say a final goodbye to her parents or her daughter. Years later, she shares her story with her granddaughter, and together, they begin to heal the wounds of the past.
