The Republican National Convention is well into its first day. KCBS Radio's Kris Ankarlo reports from the floor that the convention started with the official nomination of former President Donald Trump and the announcement of his running mate.
Some Trump backers are mounting public displays of support in the Bay Area in the wake of the assassination attempt over the weekend.
In some of her first public comments since the attempted assassination of former President Trump, House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi says, she supports efforts within both political parties to “ turn down the rhetoric.”
San Francisco has seen year-to-date declines in most all criminal activity, and citywide robberies and larceny have dipped below pre-pandemic levels.
