Welcome back to the Bayou City Soccer Podcast! This week, the guys are joined by German Benitez of Foxtrot Media to break down a strong bounce-back stretch for the Houston Dynamo. Houston kicked things off with a win over El Paso Locomotive in the US Open Cup, advancing to the next round, and followed it up with an impressive road result—grabbing all three points against Orlando City in MLS play.
Looking ahead, the Dynamo face San Diego FC in a midweek clash that has all the makings of a trap game. While the California side has struggled in its second MLS season, they still boast dangerous attacking pieces like Anders Dreyer who can turn a game in an instant. Then it’s on to Saturday, where Houston heads to Q2 Stadium to face Austin FC—a matchup that has historically been a tough one for the Dynamo.
To wrap things up, we dive into Dynamo 2’s continued unbeaten run and discuss the growing buzz around local youth talent, with several players knocking on the door of making a real impact at the first-team level.

Welcome back to the Bayou City Soccer Podcast! This week, the guys are joined by Juan Pereira to break down the Houston Dynamo’s embarrassing 6–2 loss to the Colorado Rapids. While the stats suggest a fairly even contest, the difference was clear: Colorado capitalized on their chances in front of goal, and as always, goals win games.
We dive deep into key individual performances, analyze Ben Olsen’s methodology, and discuss what changes may be necessary moving forward. The conversation then shifts to the upcoming midweek U.S. Open Cup clash against El Paso Locomotive, where we consider whether an upset could be on the horizon.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we preview the matchup against Orlando City, featuring former Dynamo player Griffin Dorsey, and officially dub it “The Dorsey Derby.” Finally, we highlight the impressive form of Dynamo 2, who remain undefeated heading into their sixth game of the season against Real Monarchs this Sunday.

In this episode, Manny and Diego break down the Houston Dash’s wild home victory over Racing Louisville FC, a match that featured four penalties, two for each side. The decisive moment came from Sarah Puntigam, whose late spot kick sealed the win for Houston. With the National Women's Soccer League pausing for the international window, where eight Dash players have earned national team call-ups, they also take time to dissect just how strong Houston’s start to the 2026 season has been.

Welcome back to the Bayou City Soccer Podcast! This week, the guys are joined by Juan Pereira to break down the Houston Dynamo’s tough 1–0 loss to Seattle.
For long stretches, Houston looked like the better side—doing well to limit the Sounders’ attack while creating several promising chances of their own. Unfortunately, none of those opportunities found the back of the net. Seattle, on the other hand, capitalized on one key moment and made it count, securing the win on a rainy night.
While the players put in a strong overall performance, there’s a sense that Ben Olsen could have done more tactically to influence the outcome before Seattle’s decisive moment—though, of course, hindsight is always 20/20.
Looking ahead, Houston prepares to take on the Rapids, while Houston Dynamo 2 returns to action this weekend, kicking off a challenging 10-game road trip against Austin FC II.
