Bayside Church Granite Bay Campus Services

More than just simple storytelling, the parables Jesus shared during His ministry on earth have deep meaning and application for us even today. In a culture of great division, confusing doctrines, and constant conflict (sound familiar?), Jesus approached people with purposeful parables that revealed a new way to interact with each other and our faith.

This week, Pastor James Powell (Bayside Adventure) and Dena Davidson (Thrive School) are bringing you some powerful content on how to apply Mark 4:21-35 to our every day lives and understand some of the deeper truths Jesus was tackling.

Mark 3:20-35

Speaking in parables, Jesus offers easy to understand concepts for what His followers can expect of their lives. In this episode of The Bible Study Season 2, Andrew McCourt and Mark Clark dive into the life of Jesus for further exploration of sin, Holy Spirit, and a redefinition of the family unit.

How are we to respond to the Holy Spirit's prompting and what warnings does Mark 3:20-35 give us for a healthy discipleship?

Why did God give us the Sabbath? What even is it and how are we to live it out?

Mark 2:23-3:6 reveals three things about who Jesus is that show us how to respond to relationships, rest, and sin. Pastors Andrew McCourt and Mark Clark (Village Church) dive into this passage to teach us the theology of Christology and what it means that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath.

Mark 1:29-39

Who is the author of The Book of Mark? What is the Purpose of the Book of Mark? How does Jesus portray himself throughout the Book of Mark and why does that matter now?

All these questions and more we're answering in Season 2 Episode 1 of "The Bible Study." Pastors Curt Harlow and Dena Davidson take a look at the theological and historical context to the shortest Gospel and they unpack Demonology and explain why Jesus treats demons the way he does.

This episode gives practical application on what questions to ask God during our times of devotion and some steps on how to follow Jesus' example of life and ministry and this incredible book.
