In this episode of BC Food News, host Jennifer English discusses North York Harvest Food Bank’s trailblazing initiative: the Crisis to Catalyst campaign. The campaign is centered around building a 30,000+ square-foot Community Food Hub, aimed at radically increasing the food bank’s capacity and reshaping its function. Apart from expanding food storage and distribution, the Hub will support local food initiatives, boost community organizations incorporating food into their schemes, provide workforce development programs, and foster the growth of their social enterprise, FoodReach. The motivation behind this campaign is not just immediate relief but to establish long-term, substantial change. North York Harvest is inviting individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to support this transformative movement. The campaign will be officially launched at a community event scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2025.
