Bryan has a 1-on-1 conversation with Howard University Men's Basketball Coach Kenneth Blakeney. Blakeney will be entering his second year as the coach of the Bison in the 2020-21 season.
The Howard program has been all the buzz during the summer of 2020 after scheduling a rare home game with the University of Notre Dame, and becoming the first HBCU to receive a commitment from a 5-star high school basketball recruit, Makur Maker.
Blakeney has aspirations to make Howard Basketball a nationally known and highly regarded mid-major program to the likes of schools like Gonzaga, Butler and others that have broken through the glass ceiling of college basketball's power elite.
Having played for Hall of Fame coaches Morgan Wootten at DeMatha Catholic High School (D.C.) and then Duke University's Mike Krzyzewski, and coached with Hall of Fame coach Lefty Driesell, Notre Dame's Mike Brey and Harvard's Tommy Amaker, Blakeney has been around some of the great teachers, leaders and strategists of the game of basketball.
Howard fans and alums should be excited for the future of the program as Coach Blakeney puts his fingerprint on the culture of the men's basketball program.
