For the first time since the big scandal the Astros returned to Yankee Stadium with fans in the seats. The Bronx did not disappoint. Yankees fans jeered, chanted, held up some creative signs, and made it visibly difficult for those cheating scumbags to play in that atmosphere. The first two games went exactly as you wanted them to. The Yankees slugged Astro pitching to their fourth & fifth victories in a row. They then had a shot to sweep today which would've made for a flawless script but they could not get it done. Aaron Boone opted for Chad Green in the eighth inning of Game 3 and Buzzer Boy took him deep. This may be unpopular but to me the Altuve shot put a huge damper on all the prior joy I had. I'm not saying the Yankees needed to sweep (I'm not, not either) but going down in that fashion was absolutely brutal. We discuss that and a lot more in the latest episode of BD4!
The New York Yankees needed a series like this. Yes, it was against the lowly Tigers but Aaron Boone's team was desperate for wins heading into the weekend. With the sweep things are now looking more promising as New York is 14-14 and just 2.5 games out of first place. The lineup is hitting again, the starting pitching is giving them more length, and the bullpen has remained super consistent. And with one month in the books, we go over our first progress report in this episode, grading the Yankees as a unit, but also the lineup, rotation, and bullpen. Lots to analyze! Be sure to tune into it all!
The Knicks saw their streak come to an end against Phoenix on Monday night. Both teams brought out their best offensive performances but in the end the Knicks' top guns struggled while the Suns received great efforts from Booker & Bridges, while Paul hit the daggers at the end. But on Wednesday they bounced back, defeating the Bulls to wrap up their homestand before they head west. It was a great rebound for Julius Randle and RJ Barrett, while Immanuel Quickley provided clutch shooting in the fourth. Let's discuss it all!
After taking three at Progressive in what looked like a momentum building series, the Yankees disappointed at Camden. They split the series by losing the first and last game. Things have got to start picking up with Aaron Boone's squad. While some players seem to be coming around on both sides of the diamond, there are still too many struggling. Things are looking bleak as we're 25 games into the season and still in last place at 11-14.
The Yankees took three out of four games at Progressive this weekend. Domingo is back. The homers are back. Cole is dominant. The bullpen is top notch. Deivi is next. We talk on it all in the latest episode of the pod!
What a weekend! We open by discussing UFC 261's electric main event and then we get to the NYK! After a thrilling overtime win versus the Hawks, the Knicks picked up another victory at MSG this afternoon against the Raptors. They have now won nine consecutive games and have sole possession of the fourth seed. RJ Barrett & Julius Randle continue to shine, as the guard play in the absence of playmaker Alec Burks also remains incredibly resilient. This is all while the bigs keep proving how solid they are game after game. Guys are stepping up defensively as they've been all year while the offense has taken it to another level. Tom Thibodeau has got this Knicks unit playing on a different planet right now. Let's talk about it.
The New York Knicks are scorching hot. Will they ever lose again? Probably not. Will RJ Barrett ever miss another corner three? Probably not. Will Julius Randle ever cool off? Probably not either. So come tune into this episode where I basically glorify them for an hour! Things look really promising for Tom Thibodeau's unit. Their defense is defending, their role players are role playing--it's all dandy right now in the Garden.
The Yankees continue to play lethargic, uninspiring, pathetic baseball. They do not look interested in playing the game at all at the moment. The fielding has been lackadaisical, the pitching is suspect, and the lineup is cold up and down the order. Things are so bad our first baseman retired! But Aaron Boone says all is good and dandy, so come tune into the latest episode where we rant about this joke of a start for an hour.
The Knicks have won five straight! They took down both the Pelicans & Mavericks on the road thanks to Julius Randle's offensive explosions. Randle is on a string of three games where he's scored 30 or more. RJ Barrett also bounced back on Friday with a big performance where he dropped 13 of his 24 in the fourth to defeat the Mavs. Tingus Pingus takes the L! We talk Knicks, discuss some MMA, the Askren fight, and more!
There are so many things to be upset about when it comes to this Yankees team lately, but after losing another series and having to hear Aaron Boone talk positives, we dedicated most of this episode to him. I am exhausted.
