Tyler and guests Caroline Amer (@Carolineamerican producer/cofounder of Double Yay, London based comedian) and Sarah Price (Chicago based actor, writer and comedian) continue on their PIRATES journey and its pretty rocky. We start off by chatting all things pirates again including our all time fav pirates across any medium--no one asked for this but its vital info. Firstly, what is even happened in 2006? We can't bring our geriatric millennial selves to remember. Second of all, how does this film look cheaper but had a much bigger budget? WE HAVE QUESTIONS. While we don't love this sequel, we do love: the barnacle boys/sea life covered pirates, a new villain for no reason who has a suspect ponytail and the brilliance of Bootstrap Bill. Also Orlando Bloom is attractive but he cant get it, WE SAID WHAT WE SAID. And just so everyone knows, he is in fact an entirely different person/actor than Jude Law. Magical Music by Eric Backus.

Tyler and guest Rae Gray (@heyraegray Chicago based Actor) take on 101 Dalmatians in honor of this Friday's release of CRUELLA. With arguably, the best opening credits of all time--this jazzy and terrifying classic still slaps. First off, we need to see the tax returns of Cruella De Vil--where are her funds coming from and can we get some? Also we are back in London because Disney loves a London aesthetic and so do we. Little did we know that in this film, Disney gave us the dating advice we never knew we needed: just calm down and marry the guy. Things of note: Nanny also voices MAD MADAM MIM SO WE ARE SOLD. And in case anyone was wondering and THIS IS NOT up for debate--Cruella De Vil is the HBIC, the legend of all legends, whose evil sidekick appears only in the form of her lime green cigarette smoke. Magical Music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Imani Marcus (@mixingwithmani host of the hit bravo pod Mixing With Mani) sit down to chat all things CHEETAH GIRLS 2! From the dance sequences, the fashions of it all--this sequel gives up bop after bop! Honestly anything that has Raven as a lead, two members of 3LW and someone named Dorinda? SIGN ME RIGHT UP. Not only does this classic DCOM give us insanely unrealistic expectations about what is possible when it comes to traveling around the world for a music festival you barely auditioned for over the phone. But it also maybe convinced us that if we did travel to Spain over the summer, maybe we could have a fling with a Count from Barcelona too! It's truly a smash hit of a DCOM and the coordinating fashions slay us at every turn. Magical Music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Sarah Price (Chicago based Actor, Comedian and Writer) return to this edition of 'series with Sarah' where we recap the ending of the saga to end all sagas--TOY STORY 4. While we are still reeling from the emotional distress of this film, we are immediately won over by this incredible cast of toys. I mean did we maybe think this Forky character was the most expensive prank of all time being pulled by Pixar? Sure! But we ultimately see that it was Pixar's biggest flex of all time by getting us to care deeply about a spork. Forky operates from a place of full anxiety and we couldn't relate to him more if we tried. This film made us miss a lot of comforts of childhood--cubbies (remember cubbies?!), backpacks and scholastic book fairs at the library. So thank the Pixar gods that they gave us Ducky and Bunny to help fill that void in our adult hearts--we truly don't deserve them. Magical Music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Debo Balogun (@debo.balogun Chicago based actor and artist) sit down to chat all things Ralph Breaks the Internet! Y'all this film is so special and unbelievably detailed and truly underrated. This cast is beyond stacked with so many wonderful actors it's honestly unfair. Filled with hundreds of easter eggs and so much creativity, its mind-blowing that Disney is able to create such unique worlds and make them so accessible to their audiences. I mean listen, Sarah Silverman is a teeny race car driver in a video game? You can SIGN ME RIGHT UP. We also get ALL of the DISNEY PRINCESSES together having a sleepover in themed pajamas and it's honestly one of the most iconic scenes of all time. Magical Music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Emma Gruhl (@emmagruhl casting assistant) reunite to chat even more Alan Menken brilliance. And honestly, where do we even begin? This SOUNDTRACK, this SCORE, this CAST!! its true 90's perfection--Danny DeVito we love your work! If you ask us, we could not name more of a banger soundtrack and more of an epic heroine. Megara, voiced by the I C O N I C Susan Egan, is our dream Disney princess: badass, self assured, wears a purple dress and has an alto singing voice. She is so underrated and we make sure to give her all due credit. Also Zues and adult Hercules are HOT YALL and we love to see it. We also love to gush over our knowledge of Greek Mythology thanks to that one class we took college. Shout out to Mr. Menken for reminding us that we can go the distance and to Meg for teaching us that DID's (damsels in distress) can handle things themselves. Magical Music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Nikki Blue (@ Chicago based resident AEA stage manager at The Goodman Theatre) sit down to chat about their all time fav Disney film. listen, first and foremost this film is PROBLEMATIC—so much of this film has us asking questions about how this was ever made. The highs are so high and the lows are so low. And yet, it is filled with pixie dust, some of the best and most classic animation in the entire canon, and the hottest fairy around. Also Peter Pan is a total narcissist, and is like the ex boyfriend we all try to forget—like how DARE call Wendy a dumb girl?! her bow is perfection, her sweet nightgown she wears as a dress, HER PERFECT CURLS?? ICONIC. Peter pan is secretly the worst, but we show up time and time again not for him but for our queens Nana, Tink and Wendy—and also smee. Never forget about smee. Magical music by Eric Backus.
Tyler and guest Steve Han (@steyonceknowles actor and comedian) return to chat all things High School Musical 2 and all the magic in entails. We at BDE are so blessed to be having this chat with TikTok's very own' CEO of High School musical on TikTok'--a one Steve Han-- to discuss this truly important DCOM in the Disney canon. Join us as we chat all things DCOMS, top songs from the HSM canon and the terrifying fashions of 2007--the short sleeve cardigan of it all is nearly too much too handle. We are fully immersed in the fan fair of summer at the iconic Lava Springs, the fake tanner of it all and we certianly aren't mad about it. This is the most shocking of all the HSM franchise--giving us dramatic solos on the greens of Lava Springs, Sharpay being FABULOUS and a supposed 5-star resort literally run and staffed by high schoolers. It shocks us, it makes us feel all the things and sets us up perfectly for the big budget blockbuster that is HSM3. Magical music by Eric Backus.
