Episode 60: The GLP-1 Conversation No One Is Talking About
Losing the weight can feel like the finish line—but what happens when you get there?
GLP-1 medications have completely changed the weight loss conversation, and many people are experiencing significant results. But there’s another part of the conversation that I believe deserves much more attention: what happens after the weight comes off?
In this episode, I’m not here to debate whether GLP-1 medications are good or bad. I want to talk about the weight loss mindset and the mental and emotional work that can determine whether you’re actually prepared to maintain your results. Because changing your body doesn't automatically change your identity, your habits, your relationship with food, or the patterns that contributed to your weight in the first place.
We’ll explore why focusing only on the physical side of weight loss can leave people afraid of regaining the weight, struggling with food noise, or wondering how to navigate their identity after a major transformation. I’ll also share from my own experience of losing and regaining weight and why I believe whole health requires us to address the mental and emotional pieces alongside the physical.
In This Episode, You’ll Explore:
Why losing weight and maintaining weight loss requires more than changing what you eat or how you exerciseHow your identity, emotions, habits, and relationship with food can change after significant weight lossWhy fear of regaining the weight can actually keep you focused on the very thing you don't wantHow curiosity and consciousness can help you recognize old patterns before they take overWhy the mental and emotional work may be the missing piece in your long-term health journeyWhether you're considering GLP-1 weight loss, currently using medication, or have lost weight through another approach, this conversation is an invitation to think beyond the number on the scale and start thinking about whole health.
