Last week was no joke for me. Michelle and I have been dealing with our son’s issues behavior issues in class and it’s been frustrating to say the least. His issues have been going on for a while. We don’t know if he’s ADD, has high anxiety, whether he needs a counselor for some help, we just don’t know.

And don’t forget that I’m an entrepreneurial stay-at-home-dad who watches over my two little girls Daisy (11mos) and Skylar (3yo).

The challenges seemed to have mounted up on me last week and today’s episode will give you insight on where my mindset currently stands with at-home affairs.

I’m transitioning into a new part of my life. I’ll be turning 40 years old on February 21, 2018 and there are many things that I have going on right now.

I began my entrepreneurial journey in October 2015 and there have been many ups and downs and many challenges along the way.

My latest challenge has come as the biggest test to my mental state. I’m working on myself and leveling up to new heights that I’ve never experienced. It’s the New Me and the New Me has taken a lot of mental energy to create.

It’s been incredibly challenging for me to work while sleep deprived. I’m often very hard on myself when it comes to getting work done but it can be stressful to try to do everything I wish to accomplish and be a great dad.

I recently made an adjustment on my entrepreneurial journey and it has helped tremendously.

I’ve been known to burn the midnight oil and beat the sun up but it became draining when I didn't see where I was making progress. Yes, outwardly I could see the progress but inwardly I was feeling like I was doing doing doing and getting nothing nothing nothing.

I decided to track my wins and losses at the end of each day. It’s given me time to reflect on my work and to see where I’ve made progress and see where I need improvement.

Most importantly, I’ve been able to have daily mini-celebrations on my victories and that’s a good thing. I hope this helps you to have the same feeling along your journey as well.

One thing I’ve always hated doing was reading. I hate reading. I don’t hate it, I loathe it. I’ve diagnosed myself with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). If it doesn’t interest me beyond five minutes, you can forget about it.

But when I began my entrepreneurial journey in October 2015, one thing I knew was for certain: I had to read books. I had to read books to level up in life. Let me clarify. I’m in the process of becoming a multimillionaire. One of the things that multimillionaires do is read books. Many of them. Your top CEOs read 60 plus books a year.

So how did I beat reading? Listening. Now that I can vibe with. Hears how I’ve managed to read up to 30 books since I started my journey.

I have the biggest problem with giving back to myself when it comes to rewarding myself for the hard work that I put in. It sounds crazy right? I don’t know how to reward myself - but the truth is that I used to be the opposite.

I used to reward myself too much by going out every other Friday to the bar. I used to reward myself by purchasing things that I couldn't afford to make myself look like I had money.

Just dumb.

So I decided to do a 180° turn and go in the opposite direction. I gave up all the things that the Broke Fred used to do and decided to do the things that the Rich Fred would do. Metaphorically speaking, I gave up all of the activities that wasted time and money.

But I left myself with a void and now I’m forced to fill that void. Can you relate?

There are so many fake-preneurs on social media that is nauseating. A fake-preneur is someone who’s perpetrating as the real thing. They have no intention on helping you solve a problem, they’re looking to pad their pockets with your money. Period. They’re out to get theirs.

An entrepreneur will show you how they’ve become successful and the process of how they’ve done it. They will give you the negative situations they have encountered and what they did to rise up from them. If they show you a cool photo of them at the beach, it will be because they’ve earned it and not to just show off.

A true entrepreneur will bare their soul and tell you the good, bad and ugly about anything you want to know about being an entrepreneur. A fake-preneur sells you a dream.

Be aware of the fake-preneurs. They’re multiplying at an exponential rate.

Sleep. Oh how I wish I could sleep like I used to before I had baby Daisy. It’s been a challenging year while on this entrepreneurial journey. I’m working a crazy amount of hours along with getting broken sleep. Daisy has been the most challenging child when it comes to getting her to sleep. It’s been draining. As a dad, I’m responsible for more than just bringing home the money and keeping a roof over our heads. Life happens at hyper speed and it sometimes feels like I can’t get a grip on it. I used to put all my energy into managing my time and balancing Life. Once I gave up trying to fit in and be normal and just accept my crazy life, the happier I began to live. I have an understanding that you live once on this earth and if you don’t learn to enjoy the craziness, you’ll end up miserable and unhappy for a long time.
