Helen goes on a fun-filled adventure to the grocery store where she discovers some new vegetables.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:36
Culinary Quest Excerpt:
In a cozy little Ahway Island house, surrounded by lush trees and tall grass, lived a girl named Helen. Helen liked to do many things. She liked playing scientist and finding different bugs in the tall grass behind her house. She liked acting out stories and playing pretend. She liked playing mini golf. She liked reading books before bed. But one thing that Helen did not like was trying new foods.
Helen was what one might call a picky eater. She preferred to stick to familiar foods she already knew she enjoyed, like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or cheese pizza.

Pal feels bored now that the kids have gone to to school. He decides to ride the bus to find them.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:54
Furry Field Trip Excerpt:
The sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the kitchen floor as the boy and girl bustled about, preparing for the day ahead. Pal, the little puppy, darted in between and around the teenagers’ feet as they bustled about the kitchen. Pal’s tail wagged furiously as he weaved between their legs. He was happy they were up and about on this beautiful morning.
“Watch out, Pal!” chuckled the girl, gently nudging Pal away. The puppy didn’t mind; he just wanted to be part of the action.
“We have to get ready!” added the boy. He and the girl slipped on their shoes and slung bags over their shoulders.
What Pal didn’t know…was what the girl and boy were getting ready for. Why were they rushing about today?

Betty Bunny’s morning routine is a little different today. What could her special Human friend Max be doing?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:54
Bunny Playground Excerpt:
Betty Bunny woke up slowly. She yawned . She lifted her head and looked out the nearby window. It was cloudy and a little windy outside. Betty Bunny thought to herself, “Maybe the sun wanted to stay in bed today. I hope it feels OK!”
The little bunny stood up on her hind legs to see if she could see any glimpse of a sunbeam. Suddenly, the clouds moved apart, pushed by the wind, and a little glimmer of sun flickered down and kissed Betty Bunny on the nose.
“Oh good! My sunshine was just resting!” Betty thought, smiling.

Dragon holds an evening of storytelling in the forest, and Odin Owl tells the story of how he came to Ahway Island.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:30
Fearless Flight Excerpt:
It was evening on Ahway Island. The horizon gradually filled with shades of pink and purple as the sun finished setting and disappeared beneath the horizon. In the special clearing in the Ahway Island Forest, the forest creatures gathered with great anticipation. The ants had arrived early to be near the front, as had Chelsea chipmunk. Diana duck waddled in from the riverbank, and the frogs gathered on a large rock. Mya mouse scurried to join the group, and Peanut squirrel darted in with great anticipation. Petunia possum lumbered in slowly and purposefully. The raccoon trio appeared out of the bushes, ready for the big event.
Soon Dragon arrived too, smiling and waving at the gathering crowd. They all sat in a circle around the center point of the clearing. By now the moon was out, and its bright glow illuminated the center of the clearing. It was then that Dragon took a spot in the moonlight in the middle of the circle of creatures, standing patiently, waiting for everyone to quiet down.

Eddie has an assignment to memorize a list of 10 animals! How will he remember them all?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:55
Plans for Planting Excerpt:
It was a cool, cloudy day on Ahway Island. The birds circled the neighborhood, searching for trees to nest in, and the squirrels diligently hunted nuts to stow away. The trees shook from the wind, and leaves began to release from their branches.
Eddie De Souza returned to his classroom from recess and sat at his desk, ready to receive his homework for the day. He looked at the board at the front of the classroom and saw the words “Memory Test” written in bright blue.

Grubby Kitty discovers packing peanuts — and makes a mess! But Dad is very patient.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:16
Tumbling Tabby Excerpt:
The afternoon sun poured through the big kitchen window onto the shelf placed under the window. The shelf was covered with some pretty fabric with flowers on it; Mom had put the fabric on the shelf to protect the shelf from scratches, but Grubby Kitty liked to think that she had put it there just for him, because it made a very cozy place to sleep. Grubby Kitty had discovered this wonderful napping location quite recently, and so this afternoon, like every other afternoon for the last two weeks, Grubby was curled up on the fabric, taking a nap in the warmth of the sun.
But suddenly, ding-dong! The front doorbell rang. Grubby woke up with a shake. From
the other room, he heard Dad walk to the door, open it, and shout out “thank you!” Grubby was a little startled at first, as he had been deeply asleep and the noise surprised him. But he took a couple of big Dragon Breaths and felt much better. He stretched and yawned. Now he was wide awake and felt like exploring. Who had been at the door?

Petunia Possum feels a bit shy when meeting new friends. How will she react to meeting Morgan Mole?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:26
Possum Playdate Excerpt:
The soft glow of moonlight blanketed the Ahway Island Forest. The leaves of the trees shimmered in the moon’s gentle silver light. Fireflies twinkled amidst their branches. The air was filled with the soothing sounds of chirping crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl. It was a truly beautiful evening.
Petunia Possum had just awoken from her sleep. With a yawn and a stretch, she poked her head out from the hole in the tree stump that was her home and looked around. Petunia decided it was a lovely evening for a walk.

Fionn the dandelion seed goes on an unexpected journey through the air. Where will he land?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:50
Drifting Dandelion Excerpt:
It was a cool, sunny morning in the Ahway Island forest. The calm creek trickled water downstream. Birds chirped playfully, coasting from tree to tree, and the sun shined brightly. A gentle breeze carried the aroma of local wildflowers. In the thick, green grass, a bed of once bright yellow dandelions had transformed into a blanket of white, fuzzy seeds clustered together around each flowerhead in the shape of snowballs. Among the hundreds of seeds was Fionn, who was just now seeing the beauty of the forest for the first time.
As Fionn opened his eyes, he gasped as he took in the beauty of the world he had only heard until now. The sapphire sky contrasted brilliantly against the verdant canopy of the forest made Fionn sigh in awe.

Billy and Emily figure out how to communicate with Roly the Robot.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:55
Bot Basics Excerpt:
Light filled the living room as the curtains opened. The little robot charging on the table opened her eyes. Feeling refreshed and full of energy Roly slid off the charger. She hoped the kids had time to play today. Roly wanted to learn more. The little robot looked over to the quiet tablet, and then towards the sound of laughter spilling out of the hallway. From the sound of it, Roly figured the happy kids were coming her way. As she listened to Billy and Emily talking the little robot looked back at the tablet, still sitting peacefully. Roly wished she could understand what the kids were saying without a translator.
Billy and Emily rushed over to the table. Billy picked up the tablet and said, “Good morning, Roly!” as he typed.
