Hey everybody! Welcome back to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast. You are listening to episode # 80! What a journey this has been so far! I have learned a lot and had so many meaningful conversations with inspiring people!

The purpose of each and every episode is to encourage you onward in your daily life. Faith is a vibrant thread that gets woven into each episode because, to me, that’s the thread that keeps it all together, in every season, in each moment, and in every chapter of life.

I wonder what different threads — values, goals, people, and colors of different seasons of your life have been woven together into your very own quilt that represents your life?

I dare you before this episode, or to pause in the episode, or even after the episode to think about that quilt? What are the mile marker moments that shaped you, formed you, and created you to be celebrating where you are today? Standing in awe of the goodness and wonder of what was threaded through the quilt of your life?

It's good to look back and be reminded of what good was threaded through your life so it can be the encouragement as you walk onward in your day!

Have you ever felt like there’s something pressing on your heart? And asking yourself these questions of how am I going to do what I am dreaming up or to do what we know we are compelled to do?

Bethany Marshall has a passion to serve others, especially being compelled to love! She is a part of the PennDel Women’s Ministry Dream Team and writer. Bethany is passionate about her own ministry to love and to gather His “daughters” of all ages to be impacted by the love of Jesus, through the Daughter’s Conference.

She is so enthusiastic, authentic, and real. I love her sweet gentle spirit and the courage it took for her to step out of her own comfort zones, so she could take on a HUGE calling, seven years ago.

This conversation reminds me that sometimes when we take those steps out of our comfort zone, it stretches us, and it’s not perfect.  But it also can refine us! Because the truth is, God wants to fill us up with good things in all the areas of our life, for His greater purpose!

I have no doubt that this message and conversation will make you feel like you are locking arms with your sister, as we talk about how we can boldly step out into the unknown.

Let’s Go —- and I encourage you to share this episode with your sister — or ask yourself, "Who am I a 'big sister' to or can be a 'big sister to, today?" This might be the encouragement that they need in their day, too!

Toni often speaks about the Pro-life movement but her passion goes beyond teaching, equipping, and empowering expecting parents. She has a deep desire to help others in their relationships outside of the womb, too!

Because there are days that we all face “time”. Sometimes it’s the perfect time, other times we aren’t ready, sometimes we think we are more ready for what’s to come, than what we really are, or we may be in a season where we feel we may never get out of the wilderness years, to see any part of the dream manifest.

Here’s the hope — it’s not about our timing. If we truly want what God wants for us, then we know to trust Him. This is also something I mentioned in last week's episode, # 73!

Misty reminds us of that and encourages us all to follow the peace!

What do we do when life happens? 

On this episode I encourage you to focus on staying the course, when life seems to get in the way.....take a wrong turn....run into a dead end... or need to know which path to take next. 

Life isn't perfect. When I plan my day, my next few months, the 5 year plan out, there's a good chance I look back at the end of those mile markers and most of it went out of order. 

I don't know why I act so surprised when life changes on me. But change happens ----- life happens! 

That's why we all need this encouragement today! I hope it you take on a new perspective when life happens again. I hope you focus on staying the course and see that God can be trusted enough to be your umbrella on the good and not so good days!

In this episode, I talk about ways I have stumbled into pockets of life where I am in need to be poured into and then there are times, I know God is calling on my heart to step out and serve! 

The funny thing about serving others in the community is this: when your heart is positioned to serve, God is going to be glorified! He is getting to work on weaving together meaningful relationships, experiences, support, and blessings into those moments. I will never forget the first time I walked into a church MOPS group. I was nervous, excited, scared, and didn't want to go the first time. I almost bailed! In fact, there are many times as I said "yes" to doing things to be involved in the community or within a group, that I felt like I wasn't needed. I would fight myself and reason my way out of it! And YET ---- somehow by the grace of God it all worked out! 

It takes courage, stepping out of your comfort zone to serve someone with your gifts/talents and to build a community! It also takes some intentionality to carve that time out! I'll talk more about that in the episode, too! 

Listen, I can't stop this feeling that God is positioning you to take that leap of faith and serve Him in your own way! You know what that is, I can't tell you but what I can tell you, that you are going to make a world of difference and it will make a world of difference through you too!!

Burn out. What causes it?  A lot of things... am I right!?  Sometimes it's saying yes to EVERYTHING! Sometimes it's not giving yourself enough grace, and taking yourself WAY too seriously.  Sometimes it's because life is in motion and you can't get off the ride, no matter how fast you are going.  

 I think if you are experiencing burnout or are feeling completely and utterly overwhelmed, then this word of encouragement is for YOU!! YES, YOU, my friend!  

Recently, I took sometime off from the BE ENCOURAGED Podcast. I didn't want to but I knew that it was something that I had to do or I was going to be coming a part at the seams. I couldn't give more of me. I really needed to focus on what was in front of me at the moment. 

Although I LOVE this podcast, I knew I needed to JUST PAUSE!  In the pause, I learned a few things, like: 

1. Pausing does not mean you stop growing.  

2. Pause because we all need a break! Even if it's 1 hour of peace and quiet! We all need that time to veg out, laugh, cry it out, and most importantly quiet ourselves to hear God's voice! 

3. Pushing the pause button, allows you to gain a refreshed and new perspective. Maybe you take yourself too seriously, like I did! Remember that you are supposed to have FUN doing the things that you get to do!  

4. "You can't pour from an empty cup." (that quote reminds me of that reel on Instagram) But it's true! Who's pouring encouragement and affirming words into you? What do you need to do to fill up your cup? Read the word? Walk and talk with a friend?  

5. Ask yourself what you are fixing your eyes on, that's got you SO burned out? Trying to do it all by yourself? Are you asking for help? Are you focused on your strength or God's abundant strength?
