Alexithymia is when a person has difficulty identifying and expressing emotions. People who have this experience problems with introspection, they struggle to communicate their emotions to others and also find it difficult to identify and respond to emotions in others. Experts do not understand the exact cause of alexithymia; studies suggest that it may result from genetics, environmental factors, and/or brain injury. Today we are taking a closer look at how this condition can affect someone’s life.
