Staying happily married takes commitment, dedication, compromise, trust, love and the grace of God Almighty. The gang and I get together and discuss some of the reasons why we feel a lot of marriages lasted longer years back and nowadays reasons why a lot of marriages don't last that long.. I hope you enjoy and are blessed by our discussion. I leave you with three of my favourite quotes on love and marriage.
"There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps.”– Ronald Reagan“A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.”– Dave Meurer. “Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
Cause all of me loves all of you. Love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections. Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you. You're my end and my beginning. Even when I lose I'm winning." — John Legend, "All Of Me". One of my favourite love songs.
When two people really care about each other, should one day a year determine the direction of their relationship? Is it essential that gifts have to be exchanged on Valentine's Day? Should the measure of love a partner has for you, be weighed on the cost or size of a gift received? So many questions, varying answers. Between Us, we ponder over all these questions and realise that when two people love each other, no matter what, they always find a way to make it work.
Time waits for no one, don't spend your time on earth living for someone else. if you meet an amazing person, regardless of the colour, tribe or religion, hold onto them and don't let go. amazing people don't walk into your life every day. Don't let what others think to make you lose out on marvellous, wonderful, happy and fulfilling. Don't let others peoples voices, silence your own voice and most importantly have the courage to follow your own dreams, not someone else's version of your dream. follow your heart, your feelings, your desires. that's what's important, Mixing it up? Now that's your choice.
Between us, Itodo, Victoria, Agatha, Jude, Tobi, Paul and myself, discuss the myths surrounding virginity. Ponder over the reasons why some want to marry virgins and some decide to abstain after getting some experience. We also look into the question, is it possible to be an experienced virgin?
Some say you must be sexually attracted to the person you intend to be in a relationship with, but is that enough to sustain the relationship? what do you think? listen to Itodo, Agatha, Isreal and my self talk about this and I pray it blesses you and makes a difference.
Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Most times all you need to do is confide in someone else, share your hurts, worries, concerns. Open up to that person you know will always listen to you and not just hear you. Those tears in your eyes are like words that need to be spoken, tell your story and your experience to someone. Sometimes the best way to heal and excel is to remind yourself that you are not the only one going through this and all you need to do is Share, begin to Heal and then Excel.
"Don't forget am just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her" A quote from the film Notting Hill summarises this episode. the questions are, should a lady ask a guy out? should she propose if he doesn't? do men take women who ask them out for granted? Come along with Itodo, Victoria, Agatha, Nsikan and she heals, as they discuss, dissect and delve into opinions, myths and trends of life in the 21st century
"When you are trying to talk to your spouse about something, remember one thing. You attract more bees with honey than vinegar. Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is the conversation. Communication to a relationship is like what oxygen is to life'' Anonymous. Be open in your relationship, communicate, share, explore, have fun and live a fulfilled life. if you don't. you leave your relationship open to outside influences. Join My five dear friends, Victoria, Itodo, Agatha, Nsikan and Grace, as we dissect, discuss and share.
Five of my dear friends, Nsikan, Itodo, Agatha, Grace and Victoria get together with me and between us we dissect the trend of young guys relying on women to pay their bills. is it right? should a woman support her man whether they are married or not? should a man be a house husband? who should stay home for the first 5 years of the child's life? why is it okay for a woman to depend on a man but not the other way round? So many questions, very interesting and diverse opinions. Join us as we share and you listen and learn.
I love what Oscar Wilde said “ Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” Becoming you, is being the authentic version of yourself and not the fake version of someone else. Everything about you becomes you, your thoughts, your life and your passions are yours. The best way to love your self and be you is to understand and become who God made you to be. Your time on earth is limited don't waste it living someone else's life, Today, make the decision to take the next step to become you.
