Be Love: Reclaiming the Joy of Aging Black and Queer

Listen Later

Atlanta is seen as a queer Black mecca, a safe haven in the middle of the south. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect.

Angela Denise Davis and her partner Mary Anne Adams noticed that as aging black lesbians, there weren’t spaces in the city and beyond specifically for them.

So, they created ZAMI NOBLA, the National Organization of Black Lesbians on Aging.

The organization is dedicated to community building through music, spiritual connection, storytelling, and more to ensure no one feels forgotten.
