When we pity ourselves, all we see are our problems. We believe that the world revolves around us, and we become blind to other people. We blame people or situations for how we feel and assume they can make the situation better, too. However, playing the victim is a passive role, and denying responsibility insinuates that you are not the driver of your own actions.
