Throughout human history there have been great prophets, sages, musicians, teachers, and artists who changed the world in one way or another. These rare individuals had an extraordinary energy seeded into them that was so powerful that the expression of their being radiated out and transcended time itself.
One could say that these men and women who changed the world for the better had living within them a certain kind of ""sun."" This sun, this celestial energy that was present within them, influenced and changed everything that came into contact with it. The truth is that we are all meant to have within us this sun from which this energy radiates and changes everything about the world in which we walk.
The fact is that we are already changing the world we live in every moment, but most of the time we are not aware of it. Everyone around us is always affected in some manner by the internal state that we are broadcasting, and we are created with the capacity to become profoundly aware of how our being affects everyone around us.
Within each and every one of us lives a tiny spark of a ""sun."" If we are willing to do what is necessary to see to it that this small spark ignites into a living flame, then nothing can stop us from changing the entire world. This is not in any way an exaggeration, even though it may be hard for our time-bound minds to see that it is so.
There is a very beautiful reciprocal relationship between what is acting upon us and how we act towards it. If we are present to what is acting upon us and within us in any given moment, then that awareness changes both what is acting upon us, and it changes us at the same time.
How does an ocean wave wash away a rock? One drop at a time. That same principle holds true with regard to how we change our relationship with the world. If hopelessness, anxiety, or any other kind of hardness ever comes over us, we change the world each time we come awake to that state and refuse to let it define us.
Real sacrifice has nothing whatsoever to do with making changes for the sake of pleasing our usual sense of self. Real sacrifice is an act of choosing to please what is true in us at the cost of ourselves. That is how we change the world. One small act at a time in which we understand that changing the world begins with ending our relationship with who we have been.
