Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

Join me in a sequential look at the FIRST BOOK of the Bible, GENESIS. Today, for 7 minutes, we'll look at the FIRST DAY of the First Book. We'll see God's: 

• Antecedence: God was there BEFORE creation even started
• Attention: God leans in here. Without His attention directed here, none of this would have happened.  This is also to say that I wouldn't have happened. My very existence is dependent upon God leaning in on that first day.
• Activity: God's primary activity here in Genesis 1 is Creation. He brings things into existence by speaking.  Amazing!
• Assessment: God brings out the scale for the first time.  Is it good or bad?
• Affirmation: He calls what He has done good. This shouldn't be a surprise.

Walk with me today, and then hopefully tomorrow as we "tackle this book" or better: seek the face of God, in daily 7 minute bites.

It's been more important to get the Bible THRU ME, than for me to "get thru" the Bible.
I wish I could have done better.  I wish I could have been a better teacher and guide. I was tasked with the Almighty and as you see, I am not very mighty.

I  am grateful to people. I am especially grateful to the Lord.  This has been the "study" of God.  This has been exposing ourselves before Him.

Ultimately, heaven is where we go to be with God forever. Where HE is, WE is. Fellowship with Himself is what He made OURSELVES for. He made EDEN for MAN and God. He makes HEAVEN for God and Man.

Revelation is God speaking in His LOUD VOICE.  In it, He invites us to AGREE with Him that Jesus is WORTHY, so we should WORSHIP Him. He is sovereign and shelters those who say yes, in His presence. 

The whole thing is an invitation to make room in our hearts for Him.  He wants us to "eat the book" in enthusiasm.  He wants us to repent if necessary.  Trust me, it is necessary ;-)

We used the movie Toy Story to picture Woody longing to be loved ANDY, to be owned my him.  What he and the rest of the toys MOST DESIRED was that Andy WRITE HIS NAME ON THEM. 
Similarly, in Revelation, God tells believers that He will write His name on us. There, our longing to be loved will be complete.

it is one of the most PRACTICAL books in the Bible
Though it is possible to START the book not humbly, it is not possible to end the book without humility.
We know the future. Therefore, it should be helping us to know what is VALUABLE in our present.
It is a book of BLESSING.
It is a book of God's SOVEREIGNTY
We'd best respond by LOVING HIS APPEARING.
If I wanna find Jesus, I'd best look in the midst of HIS CHURCH.

There are true things about heaven that are NOT recorded in the Bible. But, there is ENOUGH recorded there for us to know EVERYTHING that He desires us to know at this time.

Are you ready for the return of Jesus? Can you without regret call out: COME?
Or, are you thirsty still?  Do you still desire Him in a yet-unfulfilled way?

Today's verse is a call to BE READY and also, "If you are NOT READY..."
For those who are ready: call out COME!
For those not ready: YOU come with your empty pockets to the infinitely valuable Lord. Take Him and receive Him.  Then, you too can call out: "COME!"

Jesus is in the Star business. He created them and then identifies Himself with them.
I am the bright morning star.

This is a star we have been waiting for.  It is a marker He uses for identification of Himself.  Here's the kicker: He says we GET THE STAR.  He is going to give us HIMSELF. If you are a conquerer til the end, "I will give him the MORNING STAR". This is to say, He will give us of Himself.

OK, I don't really know WHEN Jesus is coming back.  But He does, and He says it's SOON.  On the last page of the Bible, He says it 3 times!  We'd best take Him at His word, and then act accordingly.
