On our 20on 20 Interview series…”20 minutes with inspirational people from the international food sectors”, we catch up with the brilliant Lori Taylor from the USA! And many thanks to the great team at United Fresh Produce Association for the introduction to her.
Lori is the creator behind the amazing “The Produce Moms”.
The Produce Moms® is a widely recognized consumer brand in the States that is devoted to the sales and consumption of fresh produce. Led by Lori, they are a community of passionate fresh produce advocates with a mission to inspire everyone, especially children, to eat more fruits and vegetables. Their purpose is to make sure that all moms know that fresh produce is SAFE and HEALTHY. THE PRODUCE MOMS educates consumers about fresh produce, introduces them to produce brands, engages the produce industry with consumers in inspiring conversations, and promotes public policy to protect and increase the availability of fresh produce at American schools. They are a purpose-driven brand with values that support the journey from seed to smile. They are a human, genuine, real community of moms.
Lori herself has made more than 220 Live TV appearances to extend their company’s mission. They have been featured on Oprah.com, MarthaStewart.com, RealSimple Magazine, Thrillist, and The Huffington Post. Last year she made her National television debut on the Hallmark Channel’s Home and Family PARTNERSHIPS. They work alongside fresh produce brands to develop a custom marketing campaign including custom digital content (infographic, blog, video, podcast), traditional media, email marketing, and cross-posting advocacy. They fully recognise that educators are short on time. That’s why the company created turnkey solution for educators to be a part of national programming such as the Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom. Lori interviews industry leaders on their weekly podcast, highlighting relevant topics such as food safety and storage, farming, and food education. Podcast currently has over 80 episodes.
Lori is really keen to for her and The Produce Moms to extend their reach internationally and to collaborate with us all.
Their mission is to change the status quo and leverage the talent of Women in Produce to close the industry’s gender divide by inspiring, connecting and empowering women around the world. And their mission matters more than ever.
Today, women account for 80% of purchasing decisions, but only 20% of the voices guiding decisions in the boardroom. What’s more, is that by 2030 we’ll need the equivalent of two planets to feed a growing world population of 10 billion people – half of them female.
Our industry is being called upon to feed the world more humanely, sustainably and efficiently – and more female leadership is a critical part of the answer.

A new cross-organisation campaign is taking place in May, to raise awareness of leadership training across the agricultural career spectrum.
Taking place between 17-21 May 2021, #AgriLeadershipWeek is a joint scheme by AHDB, Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, Institute for Agricultural Management (IAgrM), Worshipful Company of Farmers (WCF) and The Farmers Club Charitable Trust (FCCT).
Beanstalk Global is very proud to be hosting a key Broadcast with the main partners of the initiative so you can find out more and how you can be directly involved. We go live on Wed 12th May 2021 @ 16:00hrs BST. To register for free, JUST CLICK THIS LINK.
#AgriLeadershipWeek will target current and aspiring leaders within agriculture who are unaware of, or are yet to make use of, any leadership training. Through the campaign, it is hoped people will become more aware of training that can not only improve them as a person but as an employer in charge of others.
The campaign also wants to tackle the lack of formal agricultural education in the UK, when compared to its international partners. Only one-in-three agricultural workers in Britain have completed any form of proper training and schooling, compared with seven-in-ten in both the Netherlands and Germany.
Why is this important?
Amie Burke, Skills Development Manager at AHDB, said: “We’re delighted to be working with our industry partners on such a key initiative. The agricultural industry is both large and complex and is moving into a period of rapid change driven by political and policy changes. Strong leadership within the sector has never been more important.”
Chris Graf Grote, Chairman at Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, said: “This initiative is an important step towards making agriculture more aware of the needs for good leadership and the comprehensive training that is already available. We hope this scheme helps develop and inspire current and future generations of industry leaders.”
Stephen Fletcher, Chair of the Farmers Club Charitable Trust, said: “Investing in the future by developing our current and future agricultural leaders has never been so imperative. In a game changing collaboration, leading providers are coming together to provide a platform for the sharing of opportunities and pathways to support rural and agricultural leadership. The initiative will enable an individual to identify the most appropriate ‘leader journey’ to suit their own needs at any given time during their career.”
