Pat and Bo talk about Bo going back to school 4 days a week and Bo is excited to see all of his friends again. Bo is also excited not to have to do homework any more at home (of at least a lot less.)
Pat is also excited that the elementary kids are going back to school. Now they have to get the middle schoolers and high schools back at it.

Pat and Alora have a great discussion between the difference of inspiration and motivation and give many examples of both.

To be inspired you have to have a feeling about something, a book that means something to you, a picture that talks to you, you listen to a Ted Talk. There are so many ways to be inspired that all you need to do is listen to what is around you and you can find inspiration. 

To be motivated mean to take action. To do something about what you are inspired by or even when you have the motivation to do things that you don't want to do, but you do it anyway,  to better yourself for the future. 

As parents we want our kids to to things that we did. But not all kids will follow their parents lead. Its our job as parents to listen to our kids and allow them to follow the path that inspires them.

Pat and Bo talk about when they played kickball against each other at a kid vs. parent kickball game. Parents had all the rules to make it a fair game but the kids came out on top and they let us all know that they were the winners.

Chris Jorgenson has been the Director of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center for the last nine years. He has built it up from nothing to what it is today. Top school for LGBTQ+ students in Wisconsin and top three nationally.

Chris' overall objective is to have anyone that is in the LGBTQ+ community the best experience that they can have throughout their college career. 

He helps mentor incoming students to what is available to them and helps some of them though tough situations that they might be having at home or through their peer group.

We have an amazing conversation that leaves us talking about many topics that  include:

• what the resource center can do for you
• owning your power
• what they are doing for local k-12 schools
• and much more

I had the pleasure of talking with him a couple of times and found that everything that he says is very genuine and wants to help you and wants you to succeed.  But somethings the hardest thing is walking though the door. 

When your are ready they will be ready for you

Pat and Alora have a lot of fun today even though one of Alora's questions backfired on her. 
We talk about showing effort vs not showing effort in school and life and how that can effect you. 
We also dig into one of our favorite topics, breakfast food, and Alora tells you about her favorites and I tell you a food that disgusted my wife while I ate it. 
Alora is becoming a teenager soon and not that she doesn't already act like it but we also discuss what its like to be one and the responsibilities that come with it.
A new activity that Alora is doing is guitar lessons and is having a blast with it. Only a week in and its going well. So far so good. 
Lastly we discuss showing appreciation for others. Regardless if its a simple thank you for someone opening a door for you or writing a letter to someone that means a lot to you. Everyone needs to know that they are appreciated and to show that means the world to every one.

Pat and Bo talk about Bo having the ability to go to school 5 days a week and how excited he is to do so. 
Now...shocking enough Bo is all over the board today "squirrel" but he does have some good points of why he wants to go to school 5 days a week.

• he has older friends that are going 4 days a week now and he'd like to see them more.
• there are more kids his age that would be in his class right now if we lived on the same side of the street. 
• he wants to learn science - Parent YES!!!
• he likes math and wants to do more

Bo likes to challenge himself and to go to school 5 days a week would benefit him greatly.

Pat and Bo talk about their Boston Terrier Zuul and how much Bo likes playing with her. 
Bo and Zuul didn't always have a good relationship because Zuul isn't a fan of small and spastic but they are starting to see closer to eye to eye now. 
Its not that different, Zuul wasn't a fan of Alora either for the same reasons. But now they are very happy and cuddly.

Brandy Becker is a mom, wife, and a nurse here in the Chippewa Valley. She has been on the frontlines through out this whole pandemic seeing first hand what Covid 19 has done to people and family's.
Brandy is an outspoken, fun, energetic woman. But everyone has their breaking point. Brandy has been able to lean on her husband and daughter pretty hard over the last 10 months because of the stress that she has from her job.
Don't get me wrong, Brandy loves her job and has been working in the medical field since she was 16.
Brandy love knowledge and is constantly going to school and bettering herself for not only her craft but also to be a better mom and wife.
Pat has been blessed to have known Brandy for over 5 years now and have seen her grow into her badass self.
Those who know her knows that she carries her emotions on her sleeve, but they also know that she would do anything for anybody.
The caring nature of a nurse is something that is only a nurse can have, and to all the of frontline workers I say Thank You!
