Those of the opposite sex tend to just buy what fits. When Jason read of these studies, well, it just HAD to go into a song.

Yep, this song was also slated as a track for BT's follow up to their debut album What We've Got. However, Santa Doesn't Like You, The Cheapass Album, one live album, The Song Of The Day, and two RPM Challenge albums (All In A Day's Work and Sham Rock) delayed the album this song was to appear on. Well, until now.

This is another track recently finished from our 2009 RPM Challenge effort to create an album in a single month. The album, to be released later in the year, is called "When I Was Your Age" and features songs that take a look back at when we were kids.

Somehow we manage to get through this song without ever actually using the C-Word.

Things have been pretty busy at Beatnik Turtle headquarters the last few weeks getting ready for the release of The Indie Band Survival Guide written by our very own Jason and Randy! We have new Beatnik Turtle songs in the pipeline, but in order to get everything ready for the book's release we decided to present encores of some of the best of last year's songs.

This week's song tells the story of a group of patrons of a pub who, upon learning that the pub is on fire, head to the cellar to drink all the booze instead of running outside. Recorded as part of our RPM Challenge 2008 album, Sham Rock, this is another traditional Irish song done in the Beatnik Turtle style.

This year, we are once again participating in the RPM Challenge. Last year, we produced our album All In A Day's Work for RPM Challenge 2007. This year, we are basing our album on the concept behind the Beatnik Turtle songs Beer Beer Beer, All For Me Grog, and Whiskey Yer The Devil. That is, we are taking traditional Irish songs and re-arranging them Beatnik Turtle style.
