Here's another track recently finished from our 2009 RPM Challenge effort to create an album in a single month. The album, to be released later in the year, is called "When I Was Your Age" and features songs that take a look back at when we were kids.

This song is about a kid whose day turns out okay as long as everything happens according to plan.

This week, we're hijacking the feed to present the latest studio album by our friend George Hrab (musician, podcaster, author, and skeptic). The album is called "Trebuchet" and is contained here in its entirety! Besides the fact that Trebuchet is yet another awesome addition to George's fine discography, it also contains George's own version of his song 'When I Was Your Age,' the song that we collaborated on and recorded with him last year for our album of the same name, due to be released later this year.

This is the title track from our recently finished 2009 RPM Challenge effort where we created an album within the month of February.

We love working with other musicians and with this album we were lucky enough to get the chance to work with the great George Hrab (indie musician, podcaster, writer, and all around uber-talent). We+AJI-ve been meaning to work together since interviewing him for our book, The Indie Band Survival Guide and The DIY Music Manual. And this album seemed the perfect chance, so we called him up.

While describing the concept of the album to George on the phone, he commented on how there+AJI-s a ton of stuff kids have these days that we didn+AJI-t have growing up. And, +AJM-When I Was Your Age+AJQ- was born.

We liked this song so much we decided that the whole album's concept should be a look back at when we were kids.

Beware all ye who enter here. This song's a stern warning that being the front man of a band is not what it's cracked up to be. Consider yourself warned.

If you're a musician, we guarantee you've heard these five little words before. Nastier words could never be said.

An obvious reference to the classic movie, "Blues Brothers" (which takes place in Chicago -- where we're from), this song tells the cliche story of the band that reunites after years away from each other thanks to "creative differences", "growing apart", and, of course, the inevitable, divisive Yoko Ono girlfriend.

This is us tempting fate. Jumping the shark refers to a defining moment on the TV show "Happy Days" when Fonzie literally jumps over a shark on waterskis -- all while wearing his leather jacket. Everyone watching immediately knew the show would never be the same. There's always that moment when something in pop culture has reached it's peak and from there, it's all downhill.

The musician's anthem! This song hits on a Beatnik Turtle theme about not wanting to work (see our first RPM album: All In A Day's Work). Instead, all you want to do is bang on the drums all day. And yet, work, life, and the inevitable day job calls...

Girls! Women! Birds! Chicks! This song's about all the pretty girls out there (and you know who you are) and celebrates each and everyone of them. As the song says, it's not a man's world that spins 'round, it's a pretty girl's playground.

This song's about that guy in the band who really can't play and just doesn't get any better, but pays for studio time, buys the gear, springs for beer, and owns the van. You always have to think twice about kicking the guy out with all the money!
