Beatnik Turtle's Song of the Day

The myths we all grow up with come full circle in today's song.

At first we thought Ms. Teen South Carolina was missing a few marbles with her "maps" speech, until we realized she was actually broadcasting a secret coded message to girls everywhere to rise up and unite.

This song about girls rising up and taking over the world is dedicated to all Grrls everywhere (you know who you are - Peggy, Rosie, Tara, Carrie, Mur, Tabz, and all cool others we know who are making things happen and getting things done). You rule! It's your world, we're just sightseeing.

Yet another of those songs that has it's genesis in something said rather off-handedly only to be followed by the phrase, "Hey, that would make a great song!" After picking up Tom Roper and Tom Beeyachski to head to the studio to record, Jason asked Tom B. if his wife Kim was meeting up with them later. Tom replied, "No, Kim bailed." And later that day the three of them wrote this song.

Some people are just in the way sometimes. This song is for them.

All of us apartment dwellers have been the "broomor" or the "broomee." Sometimes damaged ceilings are the result...

We wanted to write notes about how we wrote this song, but unfortunately, it's another thing we'll never do.

This song is not about any elected official in particular. Ok, well maybe it is...

It's a sad fact that people are smarter n better n you. Well, except those who don't understand satire. Yee-haw!

Today's song is a tribute to Herbert Hoover and his dam.

Check out the new theme song we did for Tabitha Smith's (a.k.a. Tabz) cat, Myboyfriendcat's application into Dr. Horrible's Evil League Of Evil. The Destroyer's application is available on YouTube:

We've also done theme music for Tabz' podcast Buffy Between The Lines.

Let's wish The Destroyer the best of luck getting into The Evil League Of Evil!
