Poet, minister, writer, and hip-hop artist Jackie Hill Perry had a messy start to life. A distant father, exposed to porn at five, abused when she was seven, and gender confused with same sex attraction before she was ten. She embraced the same sex life when she was seventeen. She was happy, she loved her girlfriend and her group of friends, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. In the most random moments, she couldn’t help thinking about Jesus. Couldn’t help wondering why she didn’t have joy. This is Jackie’s story. Not a story of how she needed to change her behavior, but of how she needed a new heart. Share this if you’re encouraged by it!
