Welcome to Season 2 of Beautifully Broken with DawnRanae! 

Yes... It is a new season and I have a new focus. Well, it's not really new, but it is the focus for this year.

This year's journey is about Self Care and becoming more Self Aware.

Here we will learn about types of self care, have guests who specialize in them and find out how they work.

As always, my FaceBook Tribe- Beautifully Broken with DawnRanae is open to all who ask to join and we will have some extra content to help us on this journey, and have fun doing it!

I will continue my FaceBook lives as I have had many people request that I continue them... so Monday, Wednesday and Friday you can watch me be silly, ugly cry or ramble on about whatever topic God puts on my heart that day. Today is MY BIRTHDAY!

Yes- another year around the sun. Another year older, wiser and able to leap tall grass in a single step! 

I may not be well, I may still have physical and neurological deficits...

But I am much better than I was a year ago and so very happy to celebrate a 2nd birthday since I got sick.

I may not be where I want to be, but I am so much further than I was!

His journey is not unique, but hearing the story from men really is.

I count myself lucky to have his friendship and am so glad that God put him in my path, for me and for him.

What can I say?

During a conversation with a friend the other day, it dawned on me.

I am one of the disposable generation.

Anyone between 50 and 70- regardless of health status, academic degrees, life experience, business acumen and success...

Every one of us... is in the Disposable Generation.

Too old to be young but not old enough to really be old.

Just not young enough to be considered to have any value to those who are ruling the world, tweeting, texting, making major business decisions that affect hundreds if not thousands of people every day...

When did the living and the lessons learned the hard way become worthless, useless knowledge?

If you find the answer to that question... please let me know.

Until then, I will keep trying to do what I know I'm meant to do-  help when and where I can as I am able, and continue to offer love, light and support to any one who needs it.

Why? 

Because my hard fought life lessons learned have taught me that those are the things that ever really matter...

and those are the things that can make all difference in some one's life.

Welcome to Tim's Story.

It is not a new story, and yet, it is.

Hearing the story of illness overcome, the joy of a new chance at a future, then the heart breaking news of illness returned...

and inevitably, the loss of your spouse and all the hopes and dreams you had with them from a Man's perspective is something not many people get to hear.

It's not that men don't go through all the stages of grief, the emotions, the doubts and insecurities...

I think it is more likely because men are not expected to talk about them.

It's that time of year again...

Every one trying to decided what they will give up, or give in to, in the coming year.

These resolutions are supposed to be things that will enhance our lives- make us healthier, wealthier, more wise?

But in reality, ,for many, making resolutions only makes them feel worse by setting them up for failure.

So my advice is this... Don't Make Resolutions!

Me? I'm going to keep doing what I already do.

I'm going to keep being kind. Keep helping others as I am able. Keep having conversations with friends on my podcast.

And most importantly, keep being thankful and grateful every day that I am alive and able to appreciate all that I have in my life.

And that, my friends, is my wish for you in the coming year.

Is 2022 going to be 'My Year'?

I honestly don't know, but I am so glad to have you all along with me as we take this journey into 2022 together.
