Tessa was born with a rare vascular syndrome called Sturge Weber Syndrome, which covers most of her face with birthmark. With her experience of living with a unique-looking body, she now serves as a coach, guiding many others in their transformational journey. In this episode, she shares how she found her confidence regardless of her visible difference, her journey of becoming a coach, as well as some findings of her research project called To Face the World that studied on lookism, which is a form of prejudice or discrimination based on physical appearance.

Chika Okoro is a Harvard and Stanford graduate who has experienced colorism, and did a ted talk that millions of people watched. She’s also been on a show like Red Table Talk discussing issues of colorism. Chika is an active self-love advocate, and a public speaker talking about issues relating to race and gender with her mission to inspire black women and women of color to find self-love, self-worth, and confidence to live the full expression of themselves. In this episode, Chika shares her experience of colorism, what she thinks we need to overcome this standard of beauty, and her journey of embracing her natural hair, and overcoming imposter syndrome.

Queen Esie is a fashion model, body hair activist, painter, and artist, known for her multimedia project Lavender Project. Lavender Project celebrates the authentic female body by addressing one of the biggest taboos in beauty, female body hair. The project is a series of self portrait photography with a dress that elegantly reveals natural hair on her chest.
