Today we are celebrating our first episode of Beauty Uncovered in 2022. Let's talk about our resolutions. Did you know that, in multiple surveys, the number one New Year's resolution is to get fit? Today's guest is Garrett Hawkins, a personal trainer, and a transformation specialist. He's going to share some straightforward advice on how you can stick to that promise to yourself and achieve your very own transformation.
Normally on the show, I interviewed top beauty, health, and wellness experts to learn down-to-earth tips for looking and feeling your best. However, today's episode is different. We have over 40 episodes published. I am so grateful to each of you who have listened to and supported our show. As we approach a brand new year, it would be a good time to step back and reflect on some of my favorite moments on this show this last year, all through the lens of a new year and a new you. I hope you walk away from today's episode, seeing yourself in a new way, valuing yourself in a new way, and overall excited about a fresh start to a new year.
I thought that the best way to celebrate the holidays on the podcast is to speak to a few of my friends that work at Olaplex. I got together my friends, Brittany Meeks, April Garcia, and Sami Saba, and let them share their favorite holiday traditions.
Brittany Meeks is the Senior Manager of our E-commerce and talks about the German traditions she learned from her grandparents, and she hopes to pass along. April Garcia is our Sales and Education Manager for Latin America. She talks about the importance of creating holiday memories and traditions with the people you work with. Sami Saba is our Director of Retail Sales and who I think is a kindred spirit and a beautiful soul. Sami shares her experience moving to the US as a little girl and not speaking any English, and about how her parents were determined to ensure a magical holiday season for her.
You are going to get the masterclass that you never knew you needed. Today we're speaking with Dr. Ben Van Handel, Ph.D. He is a stem cell biologist and also the co-founder of Heraux. He will discuss how chronic everyday inflammation ages the skin and ways to reverse the process. He will also talk about some of the most common skin conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema, how they all have an inflammatory component, and the best ways to treat them. Also, he's going to talk about the chemistry behind some of the most popular skincare ingredients like retinol, peptides, and vitamin C, to explain how they work in the skin and make complicated biological processes like epigenetic, stem cell regeneration, and autophagy.
Hormonal health is not often talked about, though it affects everyone. It starts at puberty, goes through pregnancy, postpartum hormones, perimenopause, menopause; it is constantly in our lives. Yet, I was a little stunned at how uninformed a lot of us are. Today, we are speaking to Dr. Tara Scott. She is a doctor and a national speaker passionate about educating the medical community on the advances in evidence-based hormone therapy. In our conversation, we will talk about the most common symptoms of hormonal imbalance and why not everyone needs to take hormones. This discussion will open your eyes to what you need to be putting up with and what you don't.
Today's guest is Samantha Peszek. Aside from being a USA gymnast and an Olympian, she is training young girls and women to flex the muscle of confidence. In this episode, she will give us some tips as well.
Today's guest is Candice Kumai, classically trained chef, former line cook, former TV host, and former-model-turned journalist. A Top Chef alumna, Candice has appeared as a regular judge on Iron Chef America & Beat Bobby Flay. She is also a six-time, best-selling author. With her latest book, Kintsugi Wellness, which I am really looking forward to talking to her about brings wellness wisdom, as well as her traditional Japanese culture and has a culinary prowess.
Today's guest is Shirley Raines, the Founder of Beauty 2 the Streetz. Shirley started her non-profit organization in 2017. Her mission is to provide makeup, hygiene, and essential services for the homeless of Skid Row, California.
Today's guest is Michelle Phillips, a leading authority in the beauty industry. For close to twenty years, she worked with some of the most influential and talented celebs in the world of entertainment, sports, and politics. In addition, Michelle has appeared as a host and guest host on multiple Networks, such as HGTV, Oxygen, CW. I love her because she is a well-known women's empowerment coach and the best-selling author of "The Beauty Blueprint." Today we will dive deep into that book and some of the steps you can take to embrace your beauty.
Today's guest is Steph Grasso. She's a dietitian with over a million followers on Tiktok and tons of followers on Instagram. She gives practical advice on what small changes you can make to eat healthier without feeling guilty, and at the same time, potentially lose a few pounds.
