Facebook and Instagram, we're down on October 4 2021, and it just came as I was setting up a new social media scheduling tool with buffer.com, and when I set up my Facebook and Instagram accounts, on buffer, unfortunately, what happened was, they wouldn't allow me to connect or authenticate, which is what you have to do. ., I had no problem connecting LinkedIn and Twitter. Because they of course, were not down. I was also thinking of connecting with Pinterest.
Buffer allows all of that. However, when I went to connect with Facebook, and Instagram, comma, unfortunately, I was stopped with error messages, and I immediately blamed buffer. I tried literally three to five times thinking there was a problem with my own Facebook and Instagram business accounts, because you need to have a business account and the Facebook business page in order to authenticate on Instagram. That was unfortunately not the case, but I did get mad at Buffer and immediately I started looking for alternatives,. Add to that, that I also had my mother's birthday yesterday and early in the morning, I did go on, and we're sure a happy birthday and wrote a very nice birthday wish to her. She called me and she told me that she was very appreciative of what I wrote, and she thanked me. I of course found there was no problem with Facebook.
When I went on Buffer a few hours later, I was shocked because I was able to post something earlier on my mother's Facebook page, so you can see that I was very frustrated that I couldn't even set up a social media account. I can only imagine how many other business people and entrepreneurs as well as podcasters felt the same way or thought that the same thing.
In this episode, Megan and I talk about what happened on Facebook and Instagram and how your podcast was affected. It's my mission to make podcasts successful and help podcasters succeed with audience growth, social media is very important for social gatherings, and growing your audience. Without social media, you will not grow your podcast or your audience or subscriber base, so we need social media. We especially need Facebook and Instagram, and we need to keep on growing our audiences on both those platforms.
I don't see podcasters using Twitter, Twitter anymore, as much as they used to. . but we do use LinkedIn, so I immediately went to LinkedIn and started posting a lot of stuff there, so in this podcast episode, I'm talking about how it affected your podcast, and if you had a marketing impact ., you can also answer the question. Thank you!
