When you think about it, kids are pretty confident when they are young. But somewhere down the line, it seems like kids learn how to less confident and self-assured, which initiates a search for external forces that will bring them self-esteem. I think school plays a major part in the development of confidence in young people. It's not totally on school the cultivate confidence in young people, but they do play a role.
