One question I hear all the time is, “Do most people who graduate from CPSM become successful?”

It’s an honest question. But I think what people are really asking is, “Will I be successful if I enroll?”

Here’s the truth: In any field—law, medicine, coaching, sleep consulting—many people don’t reach the level of success they want. It’s not because the training isn’t effective. It’s because most people don’t truly commit to their own success.

The good news? That’s actually an opportunity for you. If you’re willing to be the exception—to take responsibility, to learn deeply, to show up consistently, and to refuse to quit—you can absolutely succeed in this industry.

This week I'm sharing something personal and real. Every summer, my kids look forward to sleepaway camp in the Poconos—it's their favorite time of year. As they say in the camp world, they live "10 for 2." But this year, the day before the bus was set to leave, my daughter Ivy got sick. 

I talk about what it felt like to watch one child head off to camp while the other had to stay behind—and how heartbreaking that was for both of us. But I also share the unexpected gratitude I felt in the middle of it all: the ability to just be there for her without taking time off or asking permission.

Because of my work as a sleep consultant, I could care for Ivy while still supporting my clients. It wasn’t easy, but it was possible—and that flexibility is something I don’t take for granted.

Spenser is a certified pediatric sleep consultant and mom of two little boys. For the past 10 years she has worked in the luxury events and fashion space. When her first son was born, she became obsessed with sleep training! Excited to share what she learned, she began casually consulting friends and family. After successfully sleep training her second son, she decided to go all-in and get certified through Center for Pediatric Sleep Management so she could help as many families as possible. Spenser launched her business, My Sleep Friend in September of 2023 and hasn’t looked back!
