Lance and I discuss losing his identity when he couldn't play hockey, steroid use, the last 5 hours he had with his dad, his brother's suicide, living on Bondi Beach in Australia, being a bartender and the life of drugs and alcohol to making 2017 a year of no alcohol. Now he runs a podcast, learned online marketing, encourages positive self-talk, lives in the present, is true to himself.
HIS INFO: Lance Essihos is the creator of the increasingly popular podcast “University of Adversity”, an innovative series that delivers inspiring stories of people who have overcome incredible adversity and gone forward to achieve limitless success. These interviews share the real journeys of everyday people who have reached great heights in the face of such challenge and struggle. His podcast is consistently in the Top 50 on Apple podcasts and continues to capture audiences with its genuine message of hope, ability, and humanity.
Lance is a visionary who has experienced life through three very different lenses - as a hockey player, a bartender and now an innovative entrepreneur and podcaster. Lance himself is no stranger to adversity, he has faced some of life’s most difficult challenges, from grinding his way through the hockey ranks to traveling the world as a bartender. Through his personal battle with drugs and alcohol in his twenties, the tragic loss of his brother to suicide followed by the great loss of his father to cancer only a year later, Lance realized he had hit rock bottom. In the darkest of days, he made a promise to himself that he would create a new life, one that would make an impact and inspire the masses, leaving the world in a better place than he found it.
Lance has made it his mission to facilitate the message of positive change through adversity and encourage people to see the light through the darkness of life’s worst moments. Since making the shift from being a bar manager two years ago, he has been developing his skills while following his passion for human connection and relationship building. Through his podcast “University of Adversity”, Lance extracts the valuable messages of undeniable resilience, bravery, courage and hope from each of his guests, lessons his listeners can actively apply to their own lives. Podcasting has brought him such fulfillment that he has grown his dream one step further and into creating Mic-Up podcast production.
Mic-Up provides a Podcast service that includes production, management, and marketing which allows people the freedom to have their own voice and success through podcasting without all of the work. He also helps existing podcasts with the management and production of their shows, so that they can focus on their growing business and other priorities. Lance continues his journey of personal growth and mindfulness through sports, yoga, meditation and daily gratitude journals, practices that have given him a new view of the future and all of life's possibilities.

Caroline came back for round 2 with me and it was even better! Her puppy plays in the background, and we talk about gaining grit for life, her 4-week coaching program, stop thinking and start doing, seeing people's prejudice against her parents and looking white although she's mixed race. What does confidence mean to YOU - are you intimidating or are they intimidated?

Altair and I discuss quite a lot, but some of my numerology takes center stage. We discuss the Goddess of Compassion, freedom of choice and Vedic Astrology. Renewal, the return of spiritual light, truth-finding from the darkness. I have strong moral values, I want to solve finances and will have material prosperity and abundance - the power to gain and bestow wealth. I need to learn to stand in my power and abundance and use writing, directing, entertainment (podcast?). I'm a spiritual teacher and while we were working together Altair had some suggestions of people to get in touch with (which I did the next day).
HIS COURSE INCLUDES:
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY:
After this course, "I have experienced a heightened sense of well-being and happiness, elevated energy, much less depression, and self-criticism. Episodes of heightened joy and elation, feelings of connection to the world and occasional meditative ecstasy with light flowing into my head & heart. WELCOME TO THE COACHING SERIES!
When I wrote my book I did “Bear it all” - emotionally I was raw, vulnerable and the story was difficult to share but it was important for me to do it. I realized that I am only one story and that everyone has an equally amazing story to share. The podcast was born and for me, it was a way for my guests to “write a book in an hour” - to share their story in a condensed amount of time while being extremely raw, vulnerable, and genuine. It was an opportunity for the audience to feel less alone and build tools to cope with their own struggles. The coaching calls were a result of a suggestion from one of my guests.
Not only am I physically The Naked Podcaster, but it’s my turn again to be emotionally naked so the listeners could know what it would be like to work with my guests. This process wouldn’t work unless I was a good fit for the coaching call and I was really willing to open up. These interviews are scary as listeners get real insight into my life. It’s worth it because I’ve gotten to know my podcast guests and how outstanding they are. 100% of entrepreneurs birth their business from their struggle, and it’s a gift to show how they have turned their trials around to help others. I’m looking forward to sharing their skills with you and connecting who they are in a different way.
Enjoy the journey and remember to be kind to yourselves.

Travis is my first naked guest! From that spunk, I knew we'd have a great interview! We discussed his parent's divorce, his brother with kidney disease, gaining weight, getting divorced, purchasing a home at the wrong time, and determining where you spend time and money. First in advertising for TV, to social media marketing, his program is exceptional.
Listeners have a special offer you should definitely take advantage of!

Erica was one of my launch podcast episodes on May 2, 2017. She was also the only coach I"ve hired in the last 5 years since launching my business. It's been a couple of years since we've really caught up and things have changed in her business a little - mostly adding some great features and programs, PLUS I got coaching on what I should do moving forward!
The 3 programs she offers (in links below) are Google Bait, Lifestyle Coaching, and Travel retreats and a VIP program.
Her first interview is here: https://anchor.fm/the-naked-podcaster/episodes/Minimalist-who-removed-toxic-relationships-and-became-a-business-coach---with-Erica-Duran-e6cjus
IN HER WORDS:
Aloha, I’m Erica Duran.
An International Business Coach and Lifestyle Mentor, Digital Nomad, and Minimalist.
And you are in the right place!
You see, I’ve been through A LOT! And I’ve probably been exactly where you are…
We entrepreneurs bought into that untrue story that you have to work hard to make money.
Am I bothering people by sending too many emails? Should I spend more time on Twitter, Facebook, or in networking lunch groups? Am I expert enough to say it and charge for it? What if this is the last client I’ll ever get? What if I invest in another program and that doesn’t work either? Am I marketing enough and the right way?
And worst of all… Should I go back to my cushy job with health benefits and vacation days?
