After the success of the fouth entry, Paramount Studios decided to continue the series and take it into a new direction without its main antagonist Jason Voorhees. The end result is the film that your hosts Bede & Steven diving into this episode: the infamous 1985 entry Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning, which was co-written & directed by exploitation filmmaker Danny Steinmann (The Unseen, Savage Streets).

Even though Friday The 13th Part III 3D was intended to be a possible finale for the F13 franchise but after it became the highest-grossing entry in the series at the time (it would hold onto that record until the release of Freddy Vs. Jason in 2003), a fourth entry was automatically put into production. However since the slasher genre was starting its decline around the mid-80s, it was decided to make this the definitve end to series (or so they thought). For this episode, your hosts Bede & Steve take a look at 1984 fourth entry Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, which was directed by Joseph Zito (The Prowler) and written by Barney Cohen from a story by Bruce Hidemi Sakow.

After when Friday The 13th Part 2 was released in cinemas in 1981, it's success definitely guarateed that a third film was definitely in the cards. Your hosts Bede & Steven are very excitied for this episode, as they get to discuss the entry in the series that would finally bring the key aspect of what would help make the F13 series one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time. For this episode, Bede & Steven head into the third dimension by discussing the 3D third entry Friday The 13th Part III 3D, which was written by Martin Kitrosser & Carol Watson and once again directed by Friday The 13th Part 2's Steve Miner.

However your hosts won't be alone on this one, as they're being joined by their first ever guests for this podcast. To discuss this 3D shot third instalment of the series are Warren Money and Steven's childhood friend Vince Leedy. Well, everyone. It's finally arrived. After announcing it at the end of episode 22 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead, Bede and friend Steven's new podcast together on all things Friday The 13th has released its first episode. Ever since it first hit the big screen back in 1980, the F13 series has without question one of most popular and beloved horror franchises of all time. As big fans of the films themselves, your hosts are excitied to go on this journey and dive into every aspect of F13. Not only just the films, but in other parts of media as well. However before they do, it's only fair that for this very first episode that they start with the film that started it all: the original 1980 horror classic Friday The 13th, which was directed by Sean S. Cunningham and written by Victor Miller.

Highlights in this episode include Bede & Steven discussing how they were introduced to the F13 series, which one of the sequels changed Bede's life forever, praising the naturalistic feel of the first Friday The 13th film, how the characters in this film are likeable, diving into Tom Savini's make-up and gore effects, Bede's obesession with Steve's short-shorts, the controversal snake death scene, how the film tackles the red herrings of who the killer is, Steven explains the film compares to the original script, wondering whether Mrs. Voorhees' reveal as the killer would have been more effective if she was introduced earlier and so much more.
