My mother emigrated here from Romania during the height of communism. Her mother had to flee Bassarabia, modern day Moldova, in her youth and then fled Romania as a senior. My mother retells some of her mother's story and some of her own anecdotes.

I have read a few articles online that put forth the idea that buses are a better form of public transport than rail. But when I visited Bogota, Columbia on a school trip the tranist authority there lamented the fact that they could not afford rail transit. I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth what the real deal was.
