Starting April 1, 2026, a major change is coming to the automotive industry in Ontario.

Continued Professional Development (CPD) will become mandatory for all dealers and salespeople who want to renew their OMVIC license.

No CPD = no license renewal.
And no license means you can’t legally sell cars.

In this episode of The Beepzz Buzz, Farah Mohammed sits down with Lorrie Benoit from the UCDA to talk about what CPD is, why this change is being introduced now, who it applies to, and what dealers and salespeople need to know in order to stay compliant.

For many in the industry, this will be the first time ongoing education becomes a required part of maintaining their license, making it an important shift for automotive professionals across Ontario.
