  • Stone Brewing Notorious P.O.G.
Cheers and aloha! This week we're reviewing a beer that is the combination of three things that are indisputably the GOATs of their fields: Notorious P.O.G. from Stone Brewing. This Berliner Weisse combines the tartness of the Berliner with the tropical goodness of POG juice as the ultimate adult twist on a childhood classic.

What flashback from your childhood would you like to see in a beer?

  • The Alchemist Heady Topper
Cheers to the white whale hunters out there! Thanks to some friends, we were able to get our hands on one of the most sought after double IPAs in the country: Heady Topper. Heady Toppers is a hop-heavy, well-balanced beast that doesn't pull any punches. Will it be too hoppy to find harmony? Or will ht be balanced enough to be a crowd favorite?

Have you been able to get your hands on Heady Topper?

  • Burial Beer Co Metallic Vessels
Get ready mortal beings, for a trip to the underworld. We're going six feet under as we sip on on Metallic Vessels, a black lager from Burial Beer Co with coffee from Onyx. Extremely dark with big notes of coffee, Metallic Vessels offers all the flavors of a dark beer with the drinkability of a lager. Will this be a harmonious match? Or is it too big and dessert-like?

  • Modern Times Black House
Things are getting dark on Beer Harmony. We're sipping on Black House from Modern Times, a stout full of Modern Times own coffee. With flavors of chocolate and espresso with a dry finish, Black House has a drinkability to it that most dark beers can't achieve. But will it have enough desserty goodness for us to find harmony?
We also pair this with a cupcake from our favorite cupcake shop, Sweet Arleen's.

What is your favorite Modern Times beer?

  • Figueroa Mountain Brewing's Zero to Sexy
Cheers to all the sexy craft beer lovers! We were able to get our hands on some cans of Zero to Sexy, a Golden Mocha Ale from Figueroa Mountain Brewing based out of the Central Coast of California. Zero to Sexy is chock full of coffee and chocolate but fools the casual drinker with its very light color and body. Will this sneaky ale be something we can share? Or will it be too sweet and just too weird of a style?

  • Russian River Brewing's Consecration
Are you ready to get sour? We were at our local bottle shop and happened upon a Russian River beer that we see even less than Pliny: Consecration, a sour dark ale aged in cabernet barrels. Just like every other Russian River beer, Consecration brings the flavor. Lot's of flavor. You can pick up the complexity of the wine barrels, the added currants, and all of the craftsmanship that has gone into this beer.
The question is, will it be too sour? Or will the be a crowd pleaser amongst picky palates?
We want to hear about your favorite sour beer, what is your go-to?
