Rob Wilson is our September podcast guest, he's the CEO of Toast Ale and Chief Toaster and he's come on Beer I Aam to tell us his incredible story. It turns out that his company makes beer with bread to help with food waste, but this social entrepreneurship is nothing new for Rob, he's founded social change organizations and various businesses over the years. He ran Ashoka Fellow UK before joining Toast Ale, a company that supports entrepreneurs to scale systemchanging businesses. 

In 2004 he founded READ InternaIonal, a Tanzanian student volunteer-led development organization which, to date, has provided over 1.5 million books to school children and created 100 school libraries. In 2012 he co-founded Generation Change, a partnership of the UK's leading youth social action organizations, which helps 600,000 young people a year to take positive action in their local communiIes. He has also recently co-founded the youth-led campaign Undivided, a non-partisan campaign set up to get the best possible Brexit deal for young people. And if that wasn't enough, in 2011 he co-authored, with his wife Nikki, a book on social entrepreneurship in Africa called On the Up.

Omnipollo was founded in Stockholm by #HenokFentie and #KarlGrandin in 2010. 

A common friend of Henok and Karl saw that the two had similar views and introduced them to each other.  We talked in our podcast about how they first discussed thei plans to set up a brewery and what has been essential in the first discussions. 

Omnipollo has been Swedish a "#gypsy #brewery", meaning that the brewery designs and markets their beers, but the beers are physically brewed at other breweries. Henok and Karl have had a very clear view about this. Growing sustainably through regional partnership. A complicated but well thought through journey. Now Omnipollo reaches a new milestone by creating an own brewery/church. The house of Omnipollo is ready and the first beers are running out of the brewery.

In the last part of the podcast we talk about the endgame and where Henok sees Omnipollo going forward.

I couldn`t have wished for a more open and frank talk. Henok is an inspiring entrepreneur in the beer industry and I think there is bright future for Henok, Karl and #Omnipollo.

Elisa Raus from Germany is the winner of the sixth World Championship of Beer Sommeliers which took place on September 27, 2019 in Rimini, Italy. Due to corona the 2 year title will be extended into 2022.

The 30-year-old Head of Media at the Störtebeker Brewery from Stralsund, Germany, is the first female winner in this contest. We talked about the role of the beer sommelier andwhat it takes to become a Beer sommelier? 

In our conversation we talk about the profession as a beer sommelier and how it compares to a wine sommelier. Can it become a full time job and can someone make a living as a beer sommelier?
