Beers with Nigel episodes

  • Act 8: OMG, the bar’s on fire; somebody save the beer!
Man, I love that old Bottlerockets song. Nigel and Nick got tired of recording via video conference, so they packed up the beer wagon and marched their way to the dwelling of friend-of-the-show and social media guru, John Beaudoin, for a driveway fire-pit chat. As usual, craft brew was consumed, during conversations ranging from craft beer road trips to... well, other things.
    Beers consumed during this episode:
Fields & Ivy's Skeleton Theory #2 Double IPA
Diametric Brewing's Ope My Bad Black IPA
5 year-old Boulevard Imperial Stout X Tart Cherry

  • Act 7: The road trip that wasn't. Thanks, 'Rona.
Beware, this episode contains graphic images — Nick Parker was lazy and defiantly drank his beer from a can... When they started this show, the plan included a spring and summer full of road trips and guest interviews with craft beer lovers from all over. Alas, Lady Covid had other ideas. This week, Chalonda – aka Afro Beer Chick — joins nick and host Nigel Woodberry for a peek into the Chicago beer scene and... well, other things.

  • Act 6: Welcome to our virtual quarantine taproom
As if this podcast weren't weird enough, the quarantine makes it hard to do a show about the craft beer community when the community can't gather. So, we tried something new. Nigel and Nick hosted a virtual taproom for their latest show and brought on one of the owners of Diametric, Mac Lamken, to hear his story and talk a little about the "Together We Can" collaboration among area microbrews. We should probably do this again. Beers together is always a good thing.

  • Act 3 (But really Act 5): The OGs of Lee's Summit's craft beer scene
This episode wasn't supposed to drop for a few weeks, but as Nigel and Nick and got into their conversation with two of the guys behind downtown Lee's Summit's Grains & Taps, they realized there was no avoiding talk of COVID-19 and its effects on local breweries and tap rooms. Oh, and a big thank you to the guys, who years ago, launched the hashtag that named the show... So here it is, Act 5 in the place of Act 3.

  • Act 2: She is craft beer
Alana Broyles drops by the studio and she's packing some mystery beers for Nigel and Nick as they talk about women brewers and inviting broader audiences into our favorite beer halls.
    1 hr 28 min
  • Act 1: What's in the bag?
It all started over drinks at panel of brewers hosted by Nick Parker. Nigel told his buddy he had some things on his mind and he wanted to talk. Those things you ask? Mostly its beer. Craft beer. But, as Nigel Woodberry explains to his hesitant co-host, there's an entire culture to the craft beer scene and there are some things in need of addressing.
