What does it mean to grieve someone who is still alive?
In this episode of Before the Coffee Cools, we’re talking about a kind of grief that doesn’t always get recognized: grieving a parent, a friendship, a relationship, a version of someone, or even a future you thought you were going to have.
Sometimes the person is still here, but the relationship is gone. And sometimes, the hardest part is knowing that you may never get the closure, apology, or answers you’ve been waiting for.
I’m sharing a little of my own experience with grieving my relationship with my father, learning how to process emotions on my own, and eventually learning that healing doesn’t always come from the person who hurt you.
We’ll talk about grief, ambiguous loss, closure, emotional healing, learning to understand your emotions, faith, and what it means to keep moving forward while still carrying something that hurt you.
Because you don’t need a funeral to experience a loss.
And you don’t have to stop loving someone to let them go.
