Recently, Tre attended a conference at Northern Lights College titled “Reawakening our Language: A Gathering to Honour First Peoples Language Revitalization." Doig River First Nation partnered with the college to host the event on March 14th and 15th to celebrate First Peoples' languages and the work gone in to revive them.
During the event, Tre had a chance to speak with seven people about the event, from organizers to First Nations members to those who just attended as guests.
Since he was able to talk to multiple people, the episode on the event will be divided into two parts. The next part will be put out in April.
In this episode, Tre chats with Misty Waldorf from MNBC, Rosaline Smith, whose parents helped Doig River FN take the beaver language to the written word, Stanley Fraser with the Nawican Friendship Centre, and Michael Calvert, Director of Indigenous Education for Northern Lights College.
