Cohabitation  can be dangerous  in so many ways because it fast tracks a process of knowing eachother in an unhealthy  way that doesn't  help your relationship in any way.

Cohabitation shouldn't be an option for a true believer, it doesn't matter whether or not you guys do anything, it's a box that should never be ticked.

Instead of 3rd Parties, use authority  figures to settle issues in your relationship/marriage if it cannot be settled by you both because,authority figures can never be as biased  as 3rd parties.

When you allow third parties into your relationship/marriage, you're indirectly delegating your job in the relationship to the person(s), which will see them invading your space at every given opportunity and this can ultimately ruin your relationship.

Third party involvement is the reason most relationship/marriages pack up and in worst case scenario, never enjoy the luxury of reconciliation.
