Beginner Women

Problem-solving, creativity, and resilience are required skills and qualities in the workforce of today – and tomorrow. Growing up, Mara O’Brien-James was surrounded by “strong-minded, opinionated women who knew the world was not entirely built the way it should be.” Now, as a mom and professional herself (Mara joined CARE Canada in 2009 and is now serving as its Interim President and CEO), she’s working to break gender stereotypes and eliminate barriers to equality around the world.

From education and career, to health and wealth, we’re helping parents, educators and other influential adults support a more powerful future for girls and young women. Welcome to Beginner Women!
