After the week three rundown, we’re going to do a little something different. It’s trivia time!

There are some athletes who are defined by their sport, and then there are those who are not. There are also those who were forced to retire, and there are those who had other plans. For some, their plan was to get out before it was too late.

Sterling Sharpe’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame was long overdue, and I’m glad he finally got in! You must know that these kind of accolades were not why he played, and he could care less, but the road getting there as well as how his career ended made so much sense.

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, both impacting and taking lives along the way, especially in the city of New Orleans. The NFL‘s popularity is not due just to the season itself, but it’s off-season. Our near year round attention to the NFL combine, the draft, and off-season moves is directly due to the foresight of a Hall of Fame coach, who’s trade of their best player turned them into a dynasty.

Entering the NFL draft every team has needs and they do their best to try and fulfill them. Whether you are a dynasty or a team trying to have a winning season, in the words of ESPN 30 for 30 narrator and actor Tom Selleck, “There comes a time after every draft when names on a page become careers on a field, and teams must face the consequences of their choices.”

It’s almost time for the NFL draft once again, ladies and gentlemen, and we should all know by now we have no idea how selections and signings will pan out. In 1974, the Pittsburgh Steelers may had been on the rise, and Chuck Noll, his staff of coaches and scouts were no different from those of today. They didn’t always agree on who to pick, especially when when you have selected players, as Noll put it, 

that were supposedly too small, slow, and skinny.
