There once was a time when I only knew one beat and eagerly wanted to play songs. Sound familiar? It was 2003 and The White Stripes were blazing popular. Meg White served as one of my instructors on how to play easy beats, with dynamics and good song structure.

Songs: Death Letter

Girl, You have no faith in medicine

Ball and Biscuit

In episode three, I talk about how and why I started playing music. Bud Gaugh is one of the first drummers I would listen to and play along with. No lessons, just plain fun!The first time I ran into a drummer, caught me offguard and how it changed my life.

In this episode, I talk about how listening to Branden's two albums (with The Used) triggered my love for playing the drums in 2003! Branden is still at it, now crushing it with Rancid. A quick spotlight on this special human, and a shoutout to his determination and perseverance.

In this episode of Behind The Beats, German welcomes you on his journey into the podcast world. He talks about his love for drummers and how much influence they play towards becoming a better drummer personally and a better person in his regular life.
