Behind the Bloom with J Schwanke and RJ Pole

Today on Behind the Bloom - RJ and I are discussing why Flowers are so very important in the Grief Process, and why they are essential for everyone that experiences grief. I want to share a personal story - and how it evolved - and how the “In Lieu of Flowers” concept is detrimental to our own self healing,  health and wellness when it comes to grieving. This is a challenging topic - we’ll share the proven research about flowers and their function in the grief process. I hope you’ll listen along  with me and RJ today as we discuss the amazing power of flowers when we are experiencing grief - today on Behind the Bloom!

What if you stopped fighting your lawn—and let nature take over?

On this episode of Behind the Bloom, J shares an update on his ongoing experiment to rewild his lawn and transform traditional turf grass into a Flower Lawn—or “FLAWN.”

Rewilding your lawn is about creating a more natural, sustainable landscape by reducing mowing and chemical use while making more room for flowers, pollinators, birds, insects, and other backyard wildlife. It’s a different way of thinking about what a beautiful yard can look like—and what it can do for the environment.

J shares what’s working, and some of the surprises he’s encountered along the way. Plus, he offers practical tips for anyone interested in lawn alternatives, pollinator-friendly landscaping, sustainable gardening, native plants, or turning part of their yard into a flower lawn.

So, are you ready to rewild the turf? Find out what you can expect when you trade the traditional lawn for a FLAWN and invite a little more nature into your own backyard!
